What if this whole thing is like the Brady Bunch episode where Marcia had two dates at the same time?

If this is the case and both KS and KN have been offered, which one gets the "something suddenly came up talk"? And who delivers it?

What's the reason for the delay naming a new head coach? Is it just Tom being deliberative to make sure he gets the best hire available or is it a Machiavellian plan to enrage Utah fans by hiring KWhitt after the bowl game is over?

Try during the bowl game. Watch for Whittingham to start out the game in warmups. At some point he'll run across the field and reveal his BYU gear underneath Early is.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Why stop there? Andy Phillips lines up for the game winner and Whit runs in and hits him with a steel chair!

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

He had some potential. Of course, none of us can be certain to what stage it got. There is so much secrecy and so little transparency that we can't even guess what's going on.

So it appears it's one of the two assistants. And based upon some of the information, Anderson might be the better choice, though Sitake seems more popular.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

i think it's pretty clear that Kenny N. never had an offer from BYU. Look at the way the Washington Post describes his staying at Navy:
Ken Niumatalolo announced Wednesday he would be staying in Annapolis despite interviewing for the impending vacancy at Brigham Young.
It doesn't get describe that way if he had an offer.
