I have never understood the animosity towards LAUte. Honestly, I really don't see him being much different than most of us here. Occasionally a jerk? Yes. Occasionally two-faced? Yes. Blinded by his fanatical attachment to his favorite team? Yes. That pretty much applies to all of us. On balance, I just don't get the antipathy.

Getting back to the thread at hand. I hate BYU sports. I hope they lose every game the rest of the year. I hope every BYU football player, BYU basketball player, BYU football commit, and BYU basketball commit fails miserably at every goal that they have related to sports and regret the horrible decision that they made to play for BYU every day of their life. I'm fine if they excel in other areas of their lives.

Funk and his wife received massive tuition subsidies from lds church members so they could gain an education and receive a degree. Others were excluded so that he might attend. That he's so disloyal to an institution, people and culture that provided so much shows him to be a true ingrate.

This pains me to say, but you're right. After consulting dictionary.com, I came to the realization that I've been misusing "jaded," my entire adult lift.

Maybe "tainted," but that's doesn't fit as well as my personal definition of jaded did.

I think its his feigned/ clueless naïveté about how big of a dick he is. If he owned it it wouldn't be infuriating, but he acts like and PMs people to smooth it over/ explain himself. That makes people twice as mad I think.

Now that you mention it, association with that version of the word makes it the perfect choice. The whole church-byu-Utah loyalty has turned the BYU portion of his mind into a place that no one wants to go to.

Years ago I was subjected to an infamous LA Ute PM barrage. I tried back then to explain to him that he was a dickhead and strongly disliked but he didn't want to accept it. He kept rationalizing his behavior. I tried to make it easier on him by acknowledging that I was also a disliked dickhead but of course that didnt sound credible and so he disbelieved me.
