    Jaded???

LAUte, like all of us here, seems to have an insatiable appetite for all things BYU and Utah.
    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

For the first time in several years, I went on over and read their board.

It totally saddens me after reading to have to label LAUte an official "ALUF". I actually have more respect for someone I label as an F'er.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. He reminds me of a friend I had in 3rd grade. You know how they say that three's a crowd? There were three of us that all lived within about 5 houses of each other and hung out all the time. Me, Troy, and Matt. Whenever Matt wasn't there, Troy would say "I don't really like Matt. I think we should just be friends and not invite him to go to the (bike ride, movies, park, etc) with us." Being 7 years old, I would just nod my head and go along with him.

Then, as soon as the three of us were together again, he would say "Hey Matt, Eddie doesn't like you. He didn't want to invite you to go to the (bike ride, movies, park, etc) with us. I'm your best friend, right?"

Is there a more disingenuous prick? I don't know of one.

At least funk is an ass to BYU fans all the time, so you know where he stands. I'd rather someone like that, who will come at me face to face rather than stab me in the back.

But the caricature that is LA is a true beauty to behold. Now and then I have to remind myself that he isn't part of a Phil Hendrie bit, like he's assistant to people's auxiliary police officer Jay Santos or something.

You have a lot to learn both about craft beer and illegal internet streams of football games.

I know of a couple good sources of streaming for Ute games that are HD streams. Plus, there is this thing called an HDMI cable, most newer laptops have an HDMI out that allows you to connect the stream to your television. I take being cheap very seriously and have this one worked out.

As for the beer, what do you think I am a savage? I'm not drinking it out of bottle, I'm drinking it out of a glass when I'm at home. Sure if you are out and about it may be acceptable to drink out of a bottle, but not at home. I certainly would not break the specialty IPA glass (assuming that I'm drinking an IPA) or other appropriate glass for the style of beer.

Flystripper can confirm, but there is nothing pseudo-craft about the beers that I enjoy. My go to breweries are Ballast Point, Red Rock, 2Row, Epic, and an occasional Uinta. Nothing pseudo about those.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense. I wonder if GM is following topper's lead and is just making up his own definitions.

I don't visit the Uteboard so I can't speak for what his shtick over there might be, but the few times I have interacted with him in real life have been positive. Additionally, in his professional life, he is quite accomplished. Y dumping on LAU can't be a good thing.

This is why I can't take your opinions regarding beer seriously. We are talking beer and you bring up cider? I'm not opposed to a good cider, but that is a different beast altogether. I'm also fully on board with the local/regional crafts and don't need now damn foreign beers or ciders.

On a somewhat related note, Utah is getting its first dedicated cider brewery.

Hey, overall I'm a nice person (who is occasionally an asshole), I just hate the sports team that you people root for and am honest about my hatred. I don't hate you people as a whole for your misguided choice to root for byu sports, I'm selective in which of you people that I hate. I'd probably happily grab a beer with at least 60% of the people posting on here.

Admittedly, because I can't stand the taste of those beverages, the calories and the bloated feeling, my knowledge will be considerably less than those who choose to drink them. And why is it significant that the first dedicated cider brewery is being built in Utah? Guessing without knowing, locally brewed stuff is fresher? And for those who enjoy better tasting?

There are a couple of reasons it is significant and one of those reasons has a lot to do with Utah alcohol laws. Anything that is above 4.0% has to be sold in liquor stores or as of about 2008 can be sold at the brewery. The liquor stores don't have cold storage, the breweries do have cold storage at the bottle shop. You are absolutely going to get the best quality by buying directly from the bottle shop at the brewery, because it is fresher and hasn't been sitting in a hot DABC warehouse. I can taste the difference between an Elephino bought at the liquor store and one bought at the brewery.
