Sort of a random thought: After watching the BYU game, those highlights and several other college football games, I realized that regardless of how good TH may be, his passing numbers will never be as dynamic as other QBs simply because BYU, in comparison to other college teams, gets virtually nothing after the catch. It's remarkable to me how different BYU is in this respect compared to other teams.

I think that will change with Blackmon, Leslie and Dye. Houk is slow. Painfully slow. He was loping into the end zone on that dive to the endzone. Juergens broke the one long catch but it was whistled back for penalty. Taysom would have had 350 yards passing and 130 yards rushing if not for penalties.

Speaking of Houk. Was he a Doman recruit? I remember when he was offered it was a big WTF. Weren't we his only offer and even his HS was surprised? I don't even think he was rated by any recruiting service.

Yeah, the Juergens catch and run that was called back is actually what prompted this post. It's shame it was called back. That type of play and bigger plays happen fairly often for other good teams. For BYU that was basically the only significant YAC of the game and Hill didn't even get the benefit of it. As you mentioned, my biggest hope in this area is Blackmon.
