I sat near a Topper at the game last night. Very whiney, complaining and shaking his head every time something went wrong. Yelling at Bronco to pull players out of the game and to enforce some discipline. He didn't seem to know many names though. He was always calling players by their number. "Are you kidding me, 24?! Come on!!!"

We only ran 73 plays. Kind of surprised. UConn had more plays with 79

I think this had more to do with the inability of the defense to get UConn off the field. UConn had the ball for 34 minutes to BYU's 26 minutes.

Oh there is definitely room for improvement and it was UConn so we'll see how they do against real competition but compared to last year's opener....I'll take it.

Yeah. I'd like to see improvement in the defense and penalties. I look forward to seeing how we fare against Texas. I hope it's another 500+ rushing yard destruction, but I doubt it, Texas will be out for revenge.

Sort of a random thought: After watching the BYU game, those highlights and several other college football games, I realized that regardless of how good TH may be, his passing numbers will never be as dynamic as other QBs simply because BYU, in comparison to other college teams, gets virtually nothing after the catch. It's remarkable to me how different BYU is in this respect compared to other teams.
