Thanks. I never knew that. Good useless trivia that I'll never use because nobody gives a shit about either team.

      Rice is a baseball school

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. Well, apparently somebody gave enough of a shit to ask.

Wish I could go to this game. Reliant Stadium is a good venue -- went to a couple of Texans games and the Texas Bowl one year there.

Yep, Houston and Rice are the two closest FBS football schools in the country, just 5 miles apart.

Definitely a great trivia question that nobody ever gets right. Most people guess UNC and Duke.

My guess would have been University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University... they are 6 miles apart

Closest FBS football schools are Houston amd Rice. Closest FBS and FCS football schools are Florida State and FAMU which are only 3 blocks apart. Closest D1 basketball schools are Drexel and Penn located only a few hundred feet apart.

I used to walk across both the Drexel and Penn campuses on my way to work.

                    • This will by first attempt to watch a game this season online. I can subscribe to ESPN for a day (10 Euros), but is there a better way to watch the game online? I wish I'd brought my Roku3 on vacation.

You Mormons sure have dirty mouths. I'm pretty sure that's against the Honor Code.

We use to play games in the Astrodome back in the day talking about the late 70's early 80's, we averaged about 45k consitently in the dome and it only held about 52,000 people, and this back in the late 70's and 80's w're talking about here ...when we played UT, A&M, Arkansas they would be sell out games. Considered by many sport historians the greatest college basketball game of the 20th century UCLA vs UH we played in the Astrodome, 1st BB game to be played in such a venue of that size with the size crowd with a attendance record that lasted for decades at 52k plus attending If you don't believe it, check your sport history.

It looks like your new stadium will hold around 40,000. Y'all are not thinking big enough.

Good thing that you're preparing yourself for impossibilities, then. Time well spent.

I really don't get the douchebaggery on display in this thread. Okay, it's a relatively insignificant football program these days without a fanbase. Well, if that's your argument, what does it say about us that we scheduled them? Geez, I don't see the point in treating the two lonely UH fans who happen to wander on our own little board with such derision.
