Screw the refs, screw the anti-Mormon PAC-12, screw traitorous turncoat coaches, just go out there and don't leave any doubt. #beatutah

Utah showed enough to make feel uneasy.

They can pass and have shown the ability to shut down the run.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

        Super Bowl week, folks!

The pressure is squarely on Bronco as it pertains to Utah. Time for Red Dead Redemption.

OSU can't run on anyone. USU ran OK on the Utes, especially Chucky.

I can't predict a win against Utah until we stop shitting the bed every time we play them. I don't see how Wilson won't throw 5 yard passes against our CBs all game. I don't think he'll run nearly as much as he has the past 2 weeks. Erickson is smart enough to not run in to the teeth of our defense every time.

Eh...you can't do that all game. It's a tough throw to make. It loses effectiveness in the red zone. Missed throws can turn into pick sixes. You can disguise coverages (and pressure) once in a while.

Like everything, it needs a balance. I'd rather have a soft corner who can stop yac (which povey has done a decent job at).

At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I was impressed with Wilson's running ability last night.

The way OSU defended the read option, I could have ran the ball like that.

                    Not me.

I am not worried about our defense.

About our defense? How many sustained drives did Utah have against our defense last year? They'll have to beat us with the big play, which may be a concern. But our Backers will not let Wilson run wild like that on Saturday. Wilson couldn't read the zone, I believe all three picks were against zone coverage. Guess what, BYU runs a lot of zone and has fast backers.

Worry about Hill exploiting single coverage, but don't worry about the D.

Last year's holy war was the battle of incompetent offensive coordinators. This year it is the opposite. Erickson was great with making adjustments last night. The read option was a necessity after Wilson threw a couple of INTs. I think the biggest advantage that Utah has had in this series is the ability to make in game adjustments (and taking calculated risks). It will be interesting to see the chess match on Saturday.

You realize that Eastern Washington threw for over 400 yards and 4 TDs on Oregon State. And Oregon State managed just 105 yards rushing against EWU? Against Hawaii they only rushed for 57 yards. Oregon State cannot run the ball and they have trouble defending the pass.

Conversely Utah allowed 175 yards rushing to Utah State on 4.4 yards per carry.

Hill will be looking at cover 0/1 all night. Can he take advantage? That is the question. If they stack the box, Thompson and Matthews should be crossing all day and Hoffman should be on the deep post. And if Hill or Williams get past the backers, see ya. If they leave the FS deep then we play action and run the same plays. I actually hope to see quite a bit more play action this week. I'd also like to see some opportunities to get Jamaal in space, like on a little wheel route out of the backfield or some screens when Utah gets aggressive. I'd also love to see some roll outs with a drag underneath. Get Falslev or Thompson on a backer.

The best dline in the pac12 had zero sacks against an oregon state team with a pieced together o-line. They also lack speed on the outside. I think we can get to the edge on offense against them and Taysom will have time to throw if he needs to.

On the flipside we do need to be aware of the big play with Dres and co. But I am not as worried about Wilson and the read option.
