Show some love to them Aggies: the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Son #1 was at Kyle Field in College Station watching the Aggies in their mightly struggle against Sam Houston State. He and his band of Aggie friends then rushed to a friend's apartment to watch the Texas - BYU game where Son #2 was in attendance. Multiple texts of encouragement were transmitted to LES from Aggietown. You see, the Longhorns are off the Aggies schedule and so they have to live through BYU to annihilate Texas.

I got a smile out of one of their exchanges:
#1: It's like BYU resurrected Nebraska's 1995 OL and Taysom Hill turned into Tommie Frazier.
#2: How could you know that? You were like 3 years old then.
#1: I watched some old DVDs of Nebraska games with Dad
#2: How's Nebraska doing this year?
    #1: 2-0 but haven't played anyone yet
#2: Maybe Nebraska will have a better year and Dad will stop watching old DVDs.

No kidding. The flag pole was abnchored in that sling thing between the guys legs and he would trot into the corner of the stadium before all those Texas fans and semi-squat and waive his gigantic pole around and all those people would cheer and applaud and I kept thinking I wonder if this guy's wife has to do that too.
      PLesa excuse the tpyos.

No I really can't. As I've learned in my years as a Texas fan though I wouldn't be surprised at all to find out it was one of several dozen clauses in the contract to play at LES.

(Incidentally, my comment was more of a personal observation of TH in his time as AD re: turning the page, embracing former players, Lavell, etc. I'm not sure if he intentionally has set out to distance himself from Val Hale at all but both he and Bronco are geared towards showing the Crowton years were an aberration. For me at least, Val Hale falls into that same Crowton group).

im pretty confident that it was likely a stipulation to come play in provo...an exception that BYU gladly granted.

I wish BYU would go back to allowing flags. RES really gets it right in that regard.

They should allow all flags but UofU flags...

+1. But I do think BYU's fanbase has played a part in that (apparent) decision.

They could limit the size of the Utah flags to be no larger than the traditional car flags you see wedged into car window wells. I could live with that.

That's interesting, given that Bronco said there were a bunch of former players in the locker room during the delay.

I remember several teams (including Utah) bringing flags over the last several years, though nothing as big as Texas's of course.

Does anyone even make U flags anymore?

They do with plenty of PAC 12 logos.

I don't. Does anyone else remember seeing several teams bringing their flags into LES?

I think they have had other teams with flags recently. USU, Nevada, Idaho (State). Can't remember which.

BYU named Tostitos Fiesta Bowl team of the week! And I have no idea what that means!
