Life IS Good, very, very good, but BYU sports are NOT on the upswing. The heyday were the eighties, and BYU has been treading water ever since, or sinking a bit.

Rose is dealing the hand he has, but Bronco is not a strong recruiter. Or at least he creates the impression he is not. I no longer have ties inside the program to know as much as I would prefer.

Just root for BYU longer and you should become more experienced as a realist.

Completely off topic but I read an article the other day on the Topper site in Allendale County and just put 2 and 2 together on your board name.

Very good. It is an interesting site, in light of what previous beliefs were about the inhabitants of this continent.

          • that sucks for all the other recruits....sitting on their snowmobiles, engines idling....everyone wondering when Mama is going to arrive so that they can all take off together.

            • Snowmobiling is a recruiting activity at BYU.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

As well it should be. Can you imagine any activity that would get an 18 year old kid's blood pumping faster than a ride on a snowmobile?

They used to go to Johnny B's Comedy Club at one point. I am being serious, btw.

Don't you remember when we had a recruit injured? It is a long time tradition for BYU. Junior Seau came to the recruiting trip solely to go snowmobiling.

                      • Snowmobiling is miserable. Nobody ever says it, but it's true.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Nope. Snowmobiling is a blast. Vegas must be ruining you.

No, of course I knew, BYU's been doing it for years. I'm just lamenting the fact that it's still a recruiting activity at BYU. I agree with Donuthole.

You clearly have little experience on a snowmobile. I probably would have agreed with you in the past. You get stuck all the time and spend most of the time digging yourself out. It's quite a workout. But I've been twice this year so far, and both trips have been the highlight of my winter. It's amazing the difference that a newer sled, with its lighter weight will make. Riding on a trail is boring. But exploring back country in powder when you know how to ride is a blast. I can't wait to go again next week. Last trip we were in 3 feet of powder. If I stepped off the sled, I was buried up to my waist. Perfect conditions to get stuck. But it all finally clicked and with the sweet new sled, I really didn't spend much time digging and lifting, except when I ran into that tree...twice.
