We needed receiver help. We got at least one in Kurtz but apparently it is uncertain whether we sign any other.

CJ says we had a lot of OL last year so we don't need much this year? We already know we lost Mama.

What about DL, LB and CB? It doesn't seem as if we got much help there. IOW, it doesn't look like much of a class. From what I've seen the rankings reflect this class to be about no. 61. That seems to represent a decline in comparison to past years. In light of how we don't like up well against Top 25 teams, it seems that trend will continue. There was a time when BYU considered itself a Top 25 program. Are those who denigrate those of us are dissatisfied as pussies, pleased BYU will no longer climb into the Top 25? Do you think you are please if BYU hovers around .500 and is about 50th to 60th placed program? Is that the destiny of BYU that will make you enjoy watching?
Blackmon would be a huge get for the receivers -- really hope we land him. OL doesn't seem like it's getting much help other than what we have coming back from missions. DL and secondary are already solid and there weren't any real glaring weaknesses to address there. LBers are just going to be inexperienced, but there's some talent there. Not terribly worried about that group.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

We get all of our injured cornerbacks back. We have a lot of depth in the secondary. I don't worry about linebacker, we've proven we can reload at that position. We're about at that point with the defensive line as well. There's a lot of RMs on the DLine coming back. Marques Johnson really played well in the last few games, and JonRyheem Peoples will be playing as well. The defense will be fine. In fact, the offense will as well. It was fine this year besides the red zone. A more mature group of players will help that, and there's really nowhere to go but up for the offensive line.
Why did it take so long for Bronco to start addressing it? The Oline has been poor for about three to four years. It seems Bronco waits until an aspect is catastrophically wrong before addressing it.

BYU knows a few things. It will usually have trouble attracting speedy players at the skill positions. So it will have troubles at running back, receiver and defensive back.

BYU needs a great line to protect its QB.

BYU can have a decent Dline and some decent linebackers but assuming we re-load without addressing the talent level seems to be one of Bronco's shortcomings as a recruiter. He assumes players will recruit BYU.

BYU needs more than one go-to receiver. It certainly hampered Hoffman that none of the other receivers were reliable. When we had both Collie and Watkins, we had better chances of having open receivers.

                "banging", you mean sex?

I expect to lose to USC, Alabama and the elite most of the time. And I understand the Honor Code will doom us with lesser programs as well. But you specifically know they wanted to have sex the local hotties?

Are you seriously asking if a 19 year old headed to college wants to have sex?

We landed Kurtz, fyi. Pretty common knowledge, even for people like me who don't really give a crap about recruiting.

I'm worried about replacing Sorenson and think he is nearly as big a loss as KVN. I think we will end needing some help there. I hope Badger turns out to be a player before he is through. I thought Reilly was supposed to be good but he was a non-factor last season and Wadsworth only made appearances on st.
On the recruiting class, it is still very very very good. Fred Warner and Tyler Cook are legit and Kurtz is the kind of player BYU rarely gets.

Yes. So we have one. That would make Blackmon a near imperative, unless Eric Davis pans out on his return to receiver. However, if BYU could ever have three receivers that would be a godsend. And it would be nice to see the tight end position produce again.

We still have Mitch Matthews, btw. Not a bad second option.
