With rare exceptions, good people don't go into politics. We get the monomaniacs, the egotistical, the power-hungry, the manipulative, the connivers, and the corrupt in politics - not the good people.
Good people don't go into politics because good people don't win. Good people don't win because they won't engage in the dirty business that it takes to be a winning politician.
Based on our voting patterns, we as a populace tend to prefer bad people over good people. Which makes us ripe for destruction as a country.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Unlike Nebraska (and others) USC and UCLA don't have to wait 5 years to be full members...

I wonder what the starting point was for USC and UCLA as far as annual media revenue in the PAC-12. Nebraska was phased into full shares in the B1G but they never made less than they did in the Big-12. If I remember right, the first year of media dollars in the B1G was still above what they received in the Big-12 with a full share phased in after 5 years. I'm not certain but I think Rutgers and Maryland were phased into the B1G in similar fashion. If USC and UCLA start immediately with a full share, it could be that their annual earnings in the PAC-12 are already close to what they would earn in the B1G. A more likely possibility is that once the B1G media contact is up for bid or renegotiated, the additional revenue USC/UCLA bring in merits receiving full shares at the start. Or perhaps, Kevin Warren kept his youthful infatuation with USC's cheerleaders.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostUnlike Nebraska (and others) USC and UCLA don't have to wait 5 years to be full members...

All the PAC-12 schools have been earning a lot less from their media deals than the BIG 10 and SEC schools. The ACC and Big 12 have also been earning more. I've highlighted what I see as the most likely reason (though I'm not ruling out Kevin's youthful infatuations).Originally posted by Paperback Writer View Post

ND may be going to the B1G sooner rather than later if Paul Finebaum is correct:
ND's NBC contract expires in 2025.

I wonder if Brockster has the Peacock network...
But I bet it will beat getting $24.5mm/yr in some other conference and trying to figure out how you are going to make that stadium payment."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

If the B1G pays a lot more than what the Pac 12-2 will be paying then, yeah, Oregon is compatible in the conference.Oregon has initiated preliminary discussions with the Big Ten in Chicago to determine if the Ducks are compatible in the conference, sources told Action Network.

The B10 or B12 just need to take one more team away from the PAC to effectively kill it. The P12 may be on crutches as a 10 team league, but is far from dead as long as they have UO, UW and the Bay schools. I'm hoping the B10 takes just one more team. The chaos of the remaining members to find a lifeboat would be fun to watch.

This could just be a play by Oregon to get unequal revenue sharing from the PAC.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Post
