How could they find it a nuisance? It is literally a self-governed organization.

I think the other members might be enough of a nuisance that they would rather not have to deal with them.

I still cannot get my head around UCLA and USC joining the Big 10. I understand they will get more money, but it is just so unwieldy that I cannot get my head around it.
This. It's a lot more. They were probably looking at getting $40-50 million per year staying in the Pac 12. They're looking at double that in the Big 10.

They are willing to let their Olympic sports suffer a bit to ensure a much higher future revenue stream.

Not to mention the downward trajectory of the P12 in recent years. Makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, the P12 TV contracts going forward looks very bleak... And with UCLA/USC gone estimates are saying the remaining members will be taking a 40% haircut. So like $25 per year. After Witt's $8M cut there won't be a lot left to go around in the Utah athletic department. I guess they could buy him out for $18M. Time for more taxes and student fees!

Utah rivals writer tweeted out this morning that it's expected that the conference will announce that all current members are sticking together. But I think it's a bit premature until the media right estimates come back.

And reality hasn't set in for Utah yet... they are still thinking they will be in the B1G.

Taking a 40% haircut will decimate some of those programs. They have loans and other cost based on revenue going up not down. I still think the P10 is toast no matter what kind of lipstick they put on that pig.

                        Ouch.

                        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Then you consider notre dame and the ACC schools (Clemson, North Carolina, Florida state, Miami, etc. and Utah begins to fall into their rightful place somewhere between Arizona State and North Carolina State.

                            Seriously? I had no idea.

Big 12, Pac-12 banter growing salty as realignment uncertainty hovers

California’s AB 1887 law cancels out those Big Ten states that the California State Legislature disagrees with politically.

The Bruins athletic department, which is $100 million in debt, will be forced to use donor/ booster or other nonuniversity (state) funds to have all of its sports teams travel to those states at a time when they are hoping for NIL money from off-campus collectives to stay competitive in recruiting. Coaches coaching games in those states will be doing so on a voluntary basis and will not be paid by state funds.
