  • It's obvious what's going to happen.

UW, Oregon, Cal, Stanford, maybe Notre Dame to the Big 10.

Utah, Colorado, the AZ schools, to the Big 12.

    Three blobs.

    • ACC gets torn apart by B10 and SEC. The leftovers join whatever they’re gonna call the Big 12/Pac12 leftovers.

Interesting, but he got carried away. The B1G added Nebraska before they were AAU and they would invite ND in a heartbeat. So the research revenue, etc is interesting, but I seriously doubt they are going to add Cal due to academics. Stanford maybe, better athletic program overall.

One thing for sure, no way is Utah headed to the B1G.

No, he's right - Nebraska was AAU when they joined the B10 but then lost the designation shortly thereafter.

            That's right. Thanks.

Utah is AAU, you dumb ass (in contrast to BYU).

Wasn't Nebraska stripped of AAU status on a technically? Like something like their med school not being located on campus or something weird like that?

One's hope should not be called obvious.

The thing that is obvious is that no one wants Utah (admittedly, my hope). The Big 12 may not want Colorado given their past history.

The Big 12 is obviously going to invite the Arizona schools, Washington, and Oregon

                  • I don’t hope for Utah to be left out. Utah will be fine. I do t think that the SEC/Big 10 will be successful in creating its own division that excludes most of the current acc/Big12/pac12. Too much tradition and money for that.

Ha. Reading comprehension. I never said that they aren't AAU.

                          B1G or bust (MWC)?

Cal and Stanford to the B1G is a strong possibility, IMO.

AZ schools to the Big 12 is pretty much a given. As for Utah and Colorado there may be push back from the Big 12 members about these two. Also, the B1G may make the Big 12 a deal. They will force Nebraska to come back to the Big 12 if the Big 12 will give O St and W St a home to appease the lawmakers of those states. Nebraska will do it only on the condition their old rival also joins. This leaves Utah without a chair. They may get lucky and get in to the ACC with Boise St only to have it raided by the SEC after ND finally bolts for the B1G. You can pretty much take it to the bank.

I am thinking Utah can certainly do better than the Big 12 with its crappy schools, shit hole venues, absurd geography, anti LGBTQ/anti choice/anti academic freedom culture, fragility/inevitable dissolution. Would Utah be the only AAU school? Ah, Kansas. But UK is probably looking for a pathway out. Arizona Stare is a good fit for the Big 12.

Things are still fluid. We'll see.

How do you feel about adding Fresno State and UNLV to the P10?
