The recent rumors of the B1G expanding seem to be based off this Dennis Dodd comment:

Big Ten expansion: It isn't done. That's about all I can say. Hint: The conference will begin negotiating on a new TV deal next year. The current contract expires in 2016. Definitely stay tuned.

So how big are they going to go?? Will they add 2 or 4 more.. Here are my top 4 in order as well if they take only 2. This is not all based on Football for me. I think it includes BBall schools I would LOVE to see in the Big Ten.

1. Florida State
2. Va Tech
3. UNC
4. Syracuse

Wonder if the Big Ten would admit a non-AAU school not named Notre Dame. If so, that would leave just UNC from your list and Pitt, Virginia, and Georgia Tech as other options. (Nebraska was added when it was still part of the AAU).

I think Rutgers and Maryland will turn out to be mistakes for the Big Ten, at least for football. I suppose those schools provide enough value to the BTN and conference to make it worth adding even if they win few football games.
