Congrats to ACC and Pac12 for bringing recording breaking revenue.. YET.. Still short a couple hundo-mil in comparison to SEC and Big Ten.

I am shocked that BigTen brought in more then SEC..

    Big Ten: 845.6 Million
    SEC: 721.8

Wonder how big that will be when USC and UCLA join.

I agree it is shocking. SEC has a much better product.

I believe it is a byproduct for former commissioner Jim Delaney who brokered the deals that have caused so much revenue. This new guy hasn’t done squat.

Really interesting article about the B1G. New commish comes in and finds out that huge parts of the media deal were not finished. B1G schools will be getting less money than they thought.

Nearly three months before the season kicks off and those TV deals begin, the Big Ten does not have completed longform contracts, which include the fine print details. Instead, Petitti is engaged in significant "horse trading," according to multiple sources, to get the NBC primetime deal finished and figure out what the network calls "outstanding issues" in order to uphold as much value as possible.

"These deals aren't done, and they aren't what they were represented to be from the standpoint of the NBC deal and the availability of all members to participate in November games in primetime," said an industry source.

Interviews with nearly a dozen sources in and around the Big Ten and the college sports industry paint a picture of Petitti sprinting to navigate details left unresolved from his predecessor.

As a result, there's a trail of unhappy athletic directors seeing money disappearing from their bottom line, frustrated television executives and big-name coaches irked about the lack of transparency in details that weren't communicated to them.

Yep.. Warren was a complete failure.. This deal may ba w looked good at first but it looks like he had no communication with the schools nor the knowledge of the history of the traditions etc.

He came to make a big splash and the quickly leave. Before anything was finalized..

Can't wait to read the Wilner and Canzano articles about how this means USC and UCLA are changing their minds about leaving and the PAC 12 is stronger than ever.

Big Tex expansion rumor swirling to include 4-schools:

                  Florida St., Clemson, Oregon, Washington.

Would love for this to be true…

It would be quite the coup to snag FSU and Clemson before the SEC does. Oregon is a good get too. Maybe I'm nuts, but I just don't see UW as a value add for anyone but B12/ACC.

I think that depends on the Phil Knight money and if it keeps flowing. That really is the only advantage that Oregon has over Washington. Washington is the historically better school and definitely more of a cultural fit in the b1g.

From a branding perspective, Oregon>UW. Seattle has a bigger TV market, however. Recently (as in last 30 years), it also seems that Oregon>Washington in athletics.

There are rational decisions that appear obvious to us all, but that is based upon assumptions that others might not share.

Nothing makes me feel older than conference realignment. I still can't get my simple mind around UCLA baseball recruiting a kid from Palos Verdes and offering him the chance to open conference play in the middle of March in sunny Minnesota.

I just feel so ill equipped to grasp anything about this-from what the conferences value to what is the penultimate number of teams for a conference will one day be.

If this happens, wouldn't Oregon St or Wazzu make more sense for the Big-XII to add as they are in the pacific time zone than another MST team? Right? RIGHT?
