Thank you, it's a badge of honor. I think this seasons problems are mutli-dimensional and go beyond Bronco and Riley although they deserve some of the blame.

    • Do you mean to tell me that if we didn't have a shitty QB our record would be better? In other news, water is wet, the sky is blue, and Shaka needs to be taking some of those cars on the lot for a test drive if you know what I mean!
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Of course there are, just like there was with last year's QB. But the 94th(most of the QBs below him have been benched) rated QB in the nation with 9 fumbles on the season and a bunch of pick sixes that aren't included in the rating is the primary one.

A QB that is being carried by the best D in the school's history only needed to be average to have a great season this year. He couldn't manage it.

Which game do you think we would not have won this year with a capable QB? I think only Oregon State. We may have deficiencies in other areas and there may be systemic challenges to get talent to BYU. But when we talk about this season, the coaches screwing up the QB position is the main reason we are not a one loss team right now.

Ok Shaka, this has gone overboard now. I know you watched Feterick live, just like I did and while he kinda sucked, he make Riley look like Uncle Rico. Come to think of it, most Div. I quarterbacks do.

Also, I don't think you and byu71 are anywhere near correct in your recruiting analysis. Except for QB, we have a lot of good talent on this team, just as much if not more than Utah or other comparable schools. Where we have fallen woefully short is in coaching.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

The 1996 D collectively weeps every time someone repeats this claim.

In fact, just this morning I was thinking which QBs we've played against would I rather have than Riley. I would definitely take BSU, USU, OSU (either one), ND (either one), and SJSU. Utah and Wazzu are a push. I have no recollection of Weber, but I assume he sucked, so no on Weber, Idaho,GT, and likely NMSU.
I would take both Utah QBs over Riley.

Especially Hays. Hays is underrated by the media.

He was an efficient player who didn't make big mistakes most of the time.

A pocket passer would have got destroyed because of our poor line play. It's a simple as that.

See my comment above this one. Hays maybe due to his mobility but the monstrosity of a freshman they are playing now would get killed.

A QB who makes quick reads and trusts his reads and gets rid of the ball on a 3-5 step drop would make our OL much much better.

Just like Peyton made the Broncos OLine and the Colts OLine look like world beaters.

Utah's O Line is in more dire straits this year than BYU's and Wilson has a higher passer rating than Nelson against much stronger competition.

Lots were upset last year about the Broncos O-line. Magically, those issues have nearly been non-existent this year. When they've lost starters, the depth has been an issue in Denver, and most of the sacks have occurred with one particular line makeup.

Strangely, the line play is much better with a credible QB back there.

1996 was a great D but not better than this year.

Ask anyone who knows football which type of QB they'd rather have with a bad OLine, a QB who loves to scramble or a QB who makes quick decisions and gets rid of the ball quickly. And they will go with the latter every time.

                                Andy Reid disagrees with you.
