Actually sounds like he knew a lot about BYU football and the roster.

Sounds like Leech and Bronco would be good buddies off the field.

      • I would take today and Thursday off rather than Th/Fri. Doing something besides work would make the time go by faster for me.

        • I think Kav might struggle in this game and think Stout could be a better matchup against Leach's offense. LBs tend to get tested against Leach, and I'm not sure Kav is quick enough in coverage to be most effective. Should be interesting to see how that plays out.

Regardless of how he plays on the field, I predict Kav will have fresh breath!

            • I saw Kyle Van Noy at Cubby's Chicago Beef in Provo yesterday (if you're ever there, try the Mr. Beef sandwich). Dude looks much bigger and badder in person. I wished him good luck on Thursday and he said in his funny almost cracking voice: "thanks man, I appreciate it."

Stout hurt his achilles tendon Monday nite and is out this week. I am doubting he ever stays healthy consistently. I forsee a great deal of 2-4-5 tomorrow. The two will be a rotation between Tialeeva, Fuga and Manu as Ian Dulan is also out. I could forsee some Mike Muehlman and perhaps some Simote Vea as well. The 4 LBs will be Fua and Ziggy at OLBs, Hadley at ILB and Kyle Van Noy doing whatever the hell he pleases. The two starting middle backers will also play a great deal as well but I think we see both the starting ILBs sub out a great deal against this offense - I do think Hadley will play a great deal of ILB this week along with either Kav or Tree, with Fua playing a great deal at Hadley's normal position. Then I forsee Ziggy subbing in for one of the two starters at ILB. The 5 at DBs will be Preston Hadley, JJ, Sanford, Sorenson and Hague with Bills subbing in along with Buckner. That right there will be the 18 defensive players who play until the Cougars put the game away!

Ziggy? In pass coverage? He wasn't even effective rushing last year.

He will be at OLB and likely rushing. In my scenario the rushers will be the two down lineman and then Fua and Ziggy. Kyle Van Noy does "whatever the hell he wants" and Hadley would be in coverage with the 5 dbs. Sometimes "wth" KVN wants to do might be rushing and in that case perhaps Fua will drop off into coverage. Ziggy is likely always rushing.

I think Ziggy will be more effective rushing this year than last.

I'm all for taking Friday off. I'll probably do that myself. In fact, that sets things up for a nice, extended holiday weekend.

If I were in your shoes and going to the game, I might take tomorrow off as well. As is, I want to keep my mind occupied to make the day go faster!

Except that he's apparently out of Mentos. Hopefully he buys a new pack by tomorrow.

Sucks to hear that about Stout and Dulan. I think it makes a lot of sense to have Hadley play mostly at ILb with Fua on the outside. I'm extremely skeptical about how effective Ziggy can be as a pass rusher. I hope you're right about him. Either way, I think Hadley and Tree/Kav in the middle, and Fua and KVN on the outside should be solid.

Among the five DBs, you mentioned a Sanford - I've never heard about him. Can he play?

He's looks to be past his prime, but his kid might still have some plays left in him:
