I rewatched the game last night and counted only one dropped pass by the offense. ONE DROPPED PASS!! And it was on a little swing pass to Falslev, who got his hands on the ball and could have made the catch but even then it would have been a difficult catch to make.
Apo is also a great blocker on the outside."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. You'll see, mostly on the option plays, that he'll locked up the DB and just power them back. He's so big he really has his way with them.Originally posted by Green MonstahI'll have to watch for that. That dude's body language is dripping with bad mojo.
Another interesting fact is that Nelson really distributed the ball well. Friel, Falslev, Apo and Ridley were targeted 7 times each. Hoffman had 3 targets before he got injured. The RBs were targeted 4 times in total, but I think a coupel of those were throw aways (at least the one to Mendenhall was at his feet well behind the line of scrimmage)."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. Goat, this prophecy you wrote prior to playing our first game turned out to be all too accurate. I still think we're a good team, but WSU losing to CU today has brought home the realization that I need to find that middle ground, stat.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostThis year is going to be a bit funky for many. I think many of those with lower expectations and jilted lover syndrome are going to get over it tonight, only to never really pay attention to the mistakes Wazzu is going to make on offense and how bad their defense is going to be this year. After tonight many will buy into the newfound hype that will start after this game. Then when BYU loses a game all the anger will come crashing down on Mendenhall 10 fold!
For me it is not that likely to be that fun to watch. But it will happen, mark my words many of those who have been feigning some faux emotional guard about "the hype" will be born again in a new baptism of Cougar love by 11:00 mountain time tonight only to have their dreams dashed in SLC, Boise, South Bend or Atlanta. Too many of the fanbase struggles to find any middle ground.
It will suck for all of us.

I hope you didn't buy into the hype because of the Wazzu game. I don't think many did and pretty much everyone realized they were awful.Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostGoat, this prophecy you wrote prior to playing our first game turned out to be all too accurate. To begin with, everything.

I'll freely admit that the way we kicked them around, I thought we were much better than I'd expected before the game. I thought Wazzu might be better this year than last, and I certainly didn't expect them to lose to what is probably the worst team in D1 football. Oh well.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI hope you didn't buy into the hype because of the Wazzu game. I don't think many did and pretty much everyone realized they were awful.

I saw all the same problems from Riley in that game that he was penalized for against real teams. 500 balls, hanging on to the ball forever even when he doesn't know where the rush is coming from.Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostGoat, this prophecy you wrote prior to playing our first game turned out to be all too accurate. Correction. He doesn't even have 500 balls anymore. Hell, we could have used some of those against those 5'nothing DBs guarding Hoffman and Apo. Still can't understand why we didn't even take a shot at stretching the field.

I thought it worked very well as far as pariticipation went. Dark blue and white doesn't pop the way it does for Boise State's bright blue and orange, but overall I would consider it a success.Originally posted by Babs View PostDid this end up working? It occurred to me just now that they're probably going to have free shirts on our seats when we get there, to make sure we all wear the right color. It's a night game, though, and it's supposed to be really cold, so it might not matter.Originally posted by kccougar View PostI thought it worked very well as far as pariticipation went.
