From what I can glean this is the kid to be most excited about wrt BYU's recruiting this year. This is the first good DL recruit BYU has gotten for a few years.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostPita Taupoemanu just signed with BYU. This is a nice get for the Cougars he had Utah and Hawaii offers. His first year playing football was last season for Timpview and he had 25 sacks breaking Manaia Browns state record.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

It is the first DL that BYU signed that was wanted by Utah in a long time. Well, when one excludes DL whose father is a coach at BYU. I believe Utah wanted Bronson Kaufusi. Perhaps Utah wanted Graham Rowley as well. In any case BYU's DL has been living off of recruits from 2005-2007, whose elgibilities have been stretched due to numerous medical redshirts, or freaky kids who just showed up and ended up being real good.Originally posted by The_Douger View PostGreat news!

Perhaps one could include JonRyheem Peoples, but I think he will be an OL and that was certainly what Utah recruited him for.
In either case it is certainly the first Poly DL BYU beat the U for in a very long time. I also think this kid is going to be real good in about 4-5 years. Going straight on a mission, and then likely to redshirt a year before he starts playing. He has played organized football one year of his life.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

He didn't have a Utah offer. Utah brought him in for a visit, and thought about offering him a grayshirt, but ultimately decided against it.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostPita Taupoemanu just signed with BYU. So I was watching the BYU press conference and looked over at that annoying Facebook comment feed - What is Triplet Daddy doing posting on byutv???"It's devastating, because we lost to a team that's not even in the Pac-12. To lose to Utah State is horrible." - John White IV

That is actually not true. I know the kids family and he was indeed offered by Utah as a sign and send. Similar to what BYU is doing.Originally posted by Scratch View PostHe didn't have a Utah offer. Don't mess with Scratch. He's the Utah offer police. He comes running in as soon as it's mentioned some kid going to BYU had an offer from Utah.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostThat is actually not true. When he not doing open houses, he's sending FOIA requests about BYU scheduling and cruising CougarStadium.com BYU threads. I'm amazed he has time to monitor the college football offers of kids he doesn't know.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostDon't mess with Scratch. He's the Utah offer police.
