That girl didn't get knocked out, but I'm sure she didn't enjoy getting grazed, poor decision to try and break up a fight between two big guys, she would have been smarter and safer to stay out of the way.

I just can't believe that everyone thinks this fight is a big deal. Everybody walked away with nothing worse than being shaken up with a few bumps and scrapes.

Getting into a fight may not seem like a big deal, but when a kid is a representative of the school, he does have more of an obligation to not do stupid things, especially when the school is as PR conscious as BYU. But there has to be more to the story than what has been made known.

And a question: Is a fight like that an Honor Code violation? I ask because I honestly don't know.

I think that the brawl was disgraceful, and that they could be held accountable by breaking team rules, but I don't get why a fistfight is cause to leave school. Maybe there's more to this, or multiple incidents, than is publicly known.

My perspective is probably a lot different than most because, like YOhio, fighting was a pretty common theme growing up. HotLunch and I got into fights on a weekly basis when we were little. In good old Carbon County fighting was just part of life, both one on one and in groups. I think it was a result of the blue collar atmosphere, but either way fighting was extremely common right through high school.

I saw my fair share of fights while at BYU, and this fight is nothing unusual.

What did you do/say to make him beat you up? Was his brother younger or older than you? Was he stronger or weaker than you?
