I don't know what is worse, being able to watch a shitty BYU team in HD every week or watching a decent BYU team through some shitty Mtn stream on JustinTV like the old days.

This may be embarrassing to admit but I really like Bates calling the games. The Bouffant Thesaurus ruined it though, as did the poor picture quality.

I'm curious to see how many people come out for the Idaho game.

I think it's a bad time and it's going to be cold. I went to the NMSU game last year and they said it was 53k or whatever.

By the end of that game, I doubt there were more than 35k there. Our guys deserve better as they get their senior blankets. One home game in the last seven weeks isn't very fun this year.

really surprised these games were picked up. I thought for sure that last home game would be on byutv. They got the SJSU game on the cheap through the WAC, so that is not as surprising.

BTW, the BYU-ND game pulled a 2.7 overnight neilson which is on par with the ND-USC game from last year.

The fans sitting next to me were great. One old timer told me it was the most away fans he had seen in South Bend, since Nebraska. It actually was difficult to tell how many BYU fans there were, due to both fanbases wearing DSROB.

Some actual quotes (I swear) from the fans I sat by.

There were only a few ND fans around us. They 4 closest to us were complete dicks. They were an aberration though. Everyone else we met on campus and in the stadium were very complimentary. It was mentioned by more than one ND fan that we travel really well. Hopefully the BYU fans that went didn't live up to Lavell's famous quip and actually broke the $10.

I'm really starting to think that Bronco was against going to the Big 12. I think he knows how much it would expose the weaknesses of the program.

I think Bronco just wants to play a bunch of patsies with a couple marquee games to keep the focus off football and have the focus on how great of a clean program he is running and the great young men in it.

Behind closed doors I think Bronco would be pretty open about how much he likes the buffer from criticism that the bottom of the MWC/WAC part of the schedule provides for him.

Can you imagine going 1-8 in the Big 12 this year and maybe 2-1 in OOC, Bronco would have nothing to hide behind.

If all of this is true...and I'm not saying it isn't...then Bronco probably ought to STHU when it comes to talking about their goal being a National Championship. Now - I know he's got to tell the big boosters something like that is the goal to keep them buying seats and sending money. But he mentions it beyond when he is prompted to do so.

After Hawaii made a BCS bowl with a joke schedule, I remember Bronco saying BYU is going to move to the Hawaii-model of scheduling as it is the best way to make a BCS game. He isn't a super competitive guy when it comes to scheduling. We are probably talking about the same event.
