After Hawaii made a BCS bowl with a joke schedule, I remember Bronco saying BYU is going to move to the Hawaii-model of scheduling as it is the best way to make a BCS game. He isn't a super competitive guy when it comes to scheduling. We are probably talking about the same event.

I think you are right. I wouldn't be surprised that once realization sets in that the current model for BYU football just won't produce an undefeated season with any very good teams on the schedule, I suspect we will see a MWC equivalent type schedule in the future.

One with featured teams like Southern Miss, Houston or Tulsa on it. The featured team could be BSU.

On the field or court coaching results maybe?? I am not qualified to actually access that beyond a gut feel.

Off the field or court Bronco has done a much, much better job of isolating part of the fan base and almost becoming an icon to them. There is another part of the fan base he has sent into apathy about the program at best.

I don't think Cleveland did either of those. Just a really nice guy taking BYU BB from a bad situation to a better one.

I'm really starting to think that Bronco was against going to the Big 12. I think he knows how much it would expose the weaknesses of the program.

I think Bronco just wants to play a bunch of patsies with a couple marquee games to keep the focus off football and have the focus on how great of a clean program he is running and the great young men in it.

Behind closed doors I think Bronco would be pretty open about how much he likes the buffer from criticism that the bottom of the MWC/WAC part of the schedule provides for him.

Can you imagine going 1-8 in the Big 12 this year and maybe 2-1 in OOC, Bronco would have nothing to hide behind.

Bronco doesn't seem to be a person who fears losing his job like you describe. Keep trying though.

I think BYU fans who are paying attention will eventually start giving more credit to Rose/Rice for the Jimmer experience instead of saying he was lucky to have such a good player. It is definitely more in the middle than most people want to admit.

Hmm. That's interesting. I guess we DID all also enjoy the Plaisted Experience and the Cummard Experience without giving the real credit where credit is due. Thanks, coaches!

I particularly loved the Plaisted experience, and the constant domination any time he had to go up against that scary Luke Nevill guy.

That wasn't even really an experience, it was more of a disappearing act.
