Chip Kelly and Mike Gundy are two coaches who get it, at least on 4th down decisions. No punting or kicking FGs on 4th-and-short, they're going for it in situations where the data say teams should go for it.

Kickers... If I was a head coach I would require all of my kickers to see a psychologist as well as a sports psychologist. Get them totally zenned out on Yoga and Xanax. Its the only thing these kickers work on. How are there so many un-clutch kickers?Comment

The loss is 100% on David Shaw. It is rare that you can assign all the blame to one person, but in this case it is easy.
You don't play for a 40 yard FG. You have the best QB in the country and you don't trust him to throw the ball a couple of times to get you in the endzone or another 10-15 yards.
Gundy isn't going to be an idiot here. He is going to go for the TD and won't rely on his kicker.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression
