I'm really pissed at Stanford right now and specifically David Shaw. They screwed over the Pac-12 with that loss. The Pac-12 had the chance at a somewhat respectable 3-4 bowl record (especially considering that USC was not in a bowl) and having the top 2 teams in bowls win games including 2 BCS bowls and Shaw screws it up by not relying on the 1st pick in the NFL draft.

I thought one of the great things about being in a BCS conference is you don't have to worry about how the conference performs. Its ok, the PAC is still the 3rd best conference. Its top heavy while the Big-12 is deeper.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostI'm really pissed at Stanford right now and specifically David Shaw. They screwed over the Pac-12 with that loss. Okie State has a very good kicker and it was an extra point. Stanford has a redshirt freshman kicking and they were fine going for a 35 yarder which is not a gimme, they're not the same thing. What Gundy did was just fine.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Ok, not really, we're 8-5 so who cares.
Really wanted to see Luck pull off the win, had 52 seconds to at least get it into PAT to 25 yard field goal range.Last edited by UtahJazzFan88; 01-02-2012, 09:50 PM.

Ditto. He is an adorable little guy.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostI really hope Hawk made the trip. During the game, I thought of that kid, and how a year ago I believe he was in an Ethiopian orphanage in the grimmest of circumstances, and how a year later he's enjoying the Rose Bowl experience (as much as any toddler can) with a superb family. That may be the 2011 CUF Story of the Year. I'm glad the Ducks were able to put a nice finishing touch on things.
I looked for the HFN clan in the stands. I knew the odds were slim, but I couldn't help it.

Boy, no kidding. I was pulling for OSU, but I always hate to see a team lose like that. Poor guy.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostI feel bad for the Stanford kicker."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I saw a guy at the pep rally at Santa Monica Pier yesterday that looked like HFN. They were showing it on TV here in Oregon. Not sure though.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostDitto. He is an adorable little guy.

I looked too. You never know with HFN, he might just end up on the front row.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostDitto. He is an adorable little guy.

Not the exact words I would use, but I feel the same way. As soon as I saw Stanford start running off the clock and centering the ball, I knew they'd just blown the game. Idiots. They deserved it for vetoing BYU's inclusion in the conference, anyway.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostKickers are assholes and should never be trusted. Stanford got what it deserved by playing for the fg.

I think the "Stanford vetoed us" story is just folklore, truthfully.Originally posted by mtnbiker View PostYou're the one who's simple. One track mind, always singing the same one note song, etc. Sad.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”
