except there is a provision for bsu etc to get in. Why you want to keep thebcs schools are automatically more worthy in a playoff system is beyond me.

It's most likely that I hate the BCS more than anyone on this board. My argument has always been a 16 team playoff - 11 conference champs and 5 at large.

As it was in 2006, a two-loss TCU team gets absolutely screwed. The Poinsettia Bowl isn't horrible, but they get matched up against WAC champs Louisiana Tech. Ick.

so in your ideal scenario teams not in super conferences should never have a chance?

My ideal solution is complicated and takes some time to explain, but it includes a promotion/relegation system every 12 years, and guarantees home-and-homes between mid-major and super-conference teams.

a simple yet fair solution would be top 4 ranked conference champs and 4 at large or just top 8 teams

Watching the ESPN bowl selection show, I'm just wondering who allowed these guys to go on the air with those coat-shirt-tie combinations. The two guys on the viewer's left look like TV anchors from North Dakota.

As much as I say I want Boise State in a BCS bowl, but I can't say TCU got screwed really. If they beat Baylor or SMU and only had 1 loss, I'd maybe say yes.

Sucks that BYU's Poinsettia Bowl bid isn't this season. BYU and Louisiana Tech should have asked for a little switch, would actually make sense for both teams logistically (although I know it's more complicated than that).

I'm not so sure an actual decision was made but if it was, the person who made it needs help.

Ranked by whom?

And if the goal becomes getting into the top eight, then you will see more and more teams avoiding tough non-conference games. Boise State certainly wouldn't call your simple solution fair.

I'm a Bama sympathizer (circa 2009!), but I did think it was funny hearing Les Miles stumble over his words: "I want to congratulate Coach Saban and Alabama for--qualifying for the BCS title game."

The producer always has a personal assistant. Additionally, most shows also feature an Asssociate Producer and Executive Producer. It is not uncommon for shows to employ interns as well.
