  • Leach did wonders for Michael Crabtree.

Apo is a big, speedy receiver with great hands and excellent body control, and he would have phenomenal stats at WSU. I am sure Leach intends to turn Connor Halliday into the next Graham Harrell so I am certain he would be interested in Apo's skill set.

I am not saying he should transfer, but that WSU might be a great career builder.

He's in no position eligibility wise to transfer. He hurt his finger last year and burned the redshirt. He could burn a year and transfer to wherever Heaps goes and get on the same year as Jake, but why? The kid's LDS and presumably has no cultural compatibility problems fitting in, and is killing it right where he's at going after some of Austin Collie's records. I think he stays pat.

He'd be looking at ghastly stats and tons of touches. He'd have a year to grow into the system before seeing the field for two years.

My comments was a response to Heaps claiming WSU was a possibility and others asking of Apo would stay at BYU.

Of the two, Apo transferring to WSU would make a lot more sense.

I think LA feels bad for him for going to BYU in the first place.

He could transfer anywhere, play 2 and have a nice NFL career.

That NFL career is much more likely if you have a passing QB in a passing offense with a pass-minded coach (*coug* Washington State *cough*) than at BYU with a run-first, questionable passing QB in an unclear offense.

Calvin Johnson disagrees. The NFL will find talent if if you play in a shitty GT option attack with a QB that throws worse than Nelson.

How did that one escape me? I can't imagine him transferring after burning a red shirt already.

You might be right, but that is a poor example. Calvin Johnson is 6'5" 240 and runs like a deer. He wasnt going to run at the combine until he said f this I want to run, borrows cleats and runs a freaking 4.3. So ya, the NFL will always find that guy.

It is a poor comparison. Apo is not close to Calvin Johnson.

I do however think Apos ceiling is someone like Marques Colston. Big possession receiver with great hands and adequate speed to seperate from NFL defenders.

and BYU's offense isn't exactly GT. We still throw it 20-35 times per game. Apo will have a chance to shine at BYU. In fact ,I would say he is going to have a ton of opportunity to bail his QB out over then next couple of seasons.

I was ready to transfer to UT but my dad told me: "f--- you and and f--- your crybaby attitude. i don't give a shit if you hate it. you made the decision and you be a man and live with it"

I have zero sympathy for Heaps.

I know Apo isn't a Calvin Johnson type player. I ony brought him up because he is the first guy that comes to mind when you think of a wide out that came from a horrible college system for wideouts. The NFL had a good idea that Johnson was going to be great even when burried in a shitty offense at GT. Apo won't be burried on a GT-like offense and will infact have tons of opportunity to make plays at BYU while bailing out his QB that likes to throw it up for grabs.
