Right. Mathews was streaking deep after Riley scrambled around. I think he was trying to hit him but missed badly. MJ came halfway across the field to make the catch...I don't even think Riley knew he was there.Originally posted by SCcoug View PostHe was on the TD pass but on the pass to MJ the only other possible receiver would have been Mathews.

maybe maybe not. I think it is fair to give him some reps against the shitty teams we play in the back half. The kid was highly recruited. He looks the part and is an unknown. Is he better? No idea at this point, but Heaps sucks donkey balls and Riley is going to fade.Originally posted by Green Monstah View PostShoudnt we actuallt wait to see Lark Play before calling for him to play over Heaps?Last edited by Flystripper; 10-01-2011, 06:25 PM.Dyslexics are teople poo...

Riley absolutely knew he was there. He addressed this in the press conference. He also owned up to the luck part of the play.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostRight. Of course he addressed it and pretended he knew he was there. Come on he also acted like he made a good throw to JJ on the tipped ball. That ball wasn't close.Originally posted by Shaka View PostRiley absolutely knew he was there. He addressed this in the press conference. He also owned up to the luck part of the play.*Banned*

it was a bad pass to JJ. Plus if he saw Mathews he would have thrown it to him because he was wide open.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostOf course he addressed it and pretended he knew he was there. Wow Junkie. What's the point of being a killjoy? Nelson had no reason to lie in the presser. Enjoy the win. No matter who the QB is going forward we are going to beat up on patsies for a few games and then most likely get our ass handed to us vs TCU.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostOf course he addressed it and pretended he knew he was there. Look I am excited that Nelson won us that game. But moving forward if he is our future we are in trouble. Obviously Heaps is not getting it done but you can see the physical skills Heaps has and it gives me hope that eventually it clicks. With Nelson his potentially is tapped out and if one team prepares for him he will not be effective.Originally posted by Shaka View PostWow Junkie. What's the point of being a killjoy? My feeling is that we need to see what Riley can do when he is given all the attention in practice. He wasn't perfectly accurate in all his throws but he was far more accurate than Jake. It could be that Riley's brainpower, pluck, running ability, and leadership abilities will come together to overcome physical limitationsOriginally posted by cougjunkie View PostLook I am excited that Nelson won us that game. We are in trouble no matter who starts.
Go to my new thread about rehabing Jake. I would enjoy hearing your thoughts.

I don't have a lot of hope for Riley taking us to the promised land. Unfortunately, I have less faith in Heaps at this point. I think he is officially a bust. We saw that for the first 3 games last year. I imagine we'd get something similar this year. And similar to what we saw last night. A guy with guts, who can run, but can't throw the ball. Still, I'm fine if Bronco decides to start him.Originally posted by Shaka View PostMy feeling is that we need to see what Riley can do when he is given all the attention in practice. No you didn't. You saw a guy who was splitting reps just like Jake. Why does the, "get all the reps" thing apply to Jake and not Riley?Originally posted by Jacob View PostWe saw that for the first 3 games last year. I imagine we'd get something similar this year. Double standard.

It's not my standard. But Jake was an 18 yo freshman last year and this is Riley's 4th year playing college ball.Originally posted by Shaka View PostNo you didn't. You saw a guy who was splitting reps just like Jake. Why does the, "get all the reps" thing apply to Jake and not Riley?
