No Illinois -10 v Army (2 point swing either way would have me going)
Interesting that you have such strong opinions on Minny and UNI, given HC Jerry Kill is left the latter for the former.

I think -10 on UNI is too high. If its moves to the -8 region I would go with them. Likewise if the line move to -12 Army would be a good bet.

Minnesota has no talent and they are playing in the coliseum. USC by 30

Minnesota finished last season beating Illinois and a ranked Iowa team. They have 15 returning starters from a team that lost to USC 32-21. Look for the Gophers to run the ball a ton keep the game close. Minnesota isn't going to win but the Trojans will not cover the spread.

Last years backdoor cover was complete luck. Minny sucks

Minnesota will be better this year than last. Is USC really any better this year? USC wont cover the spread all those who think they will are throwing their money away.

                Rule of thumb

Shitty teams don't cover double digit spreads on the road.

Some things we learned last night:

I need to check the over every week with Miss St. They can score and score quickly.

Memphis looks terrible. They might be a great gambling gift like New Mexico last year (they covered only once all year).

As a passive Gopher fan I have to disagree with you. They were a train wreck last year and improvement is relative. Playing the Trojans early isn't a recipe for success.

Maybe its just that I live in Minnesota and people are all nuts, but i seriously believe that it will be a close game. USC isn't the same team that it was 5 years ago.

Health with any team on probation is paramount but their first stringers are special players across the board. I don't suspect Minnesota, with all of their scholarships, will even compete. Admittedly I haven't paid much attention to the MN offseason but it truly pains me to say it: SC is still a good team.

Minnesota returns 15 starters from a team that was able to keep the game close against USC last year. I'm not saying that they will win. I just think that they will run the ball a ton, run down the clock, and at the end of the 3rd quarter hope to say, "hey were only down by 10 points." I just don't think that USC will cover the spread which is the whole point of this thread.

Right, I get that and didn't express that in my post. I don't think they cover was my point. I hope I'm wrong.

BTW, I look forward to a return trip someday to see the new stadium.

Its great! Its really nice that its on campus, a lot better atmosphere. Wish the team was better, but it still sells out. Much better than the Metrodome.

I really like Jerry Kill, the upswing at season's end and returning starters have already been mentioned and Kill's conservative gameplan keeps Minnesota within 2-3 TDs for all of the game.

As a Ute fan, I'm hoping Minnesota can do to USC what MSU did to Utah -- force Kiffin to play the starters the entire game.
