sounds like there might be some push backk from some PAC-12 Schools regarding the Big 10 cross over games.

Multiple league sources have told the Hotline in recent weeks that several Pac-12 schools are … how should we say it? … less than enthusiastic about the partnership, set to take effect in 2017.

I have to somewhat agree with Larry about the tough schedules. If a PAC team schedules a cupcake OOC game then no one over there on the left coast shows up to watch the game. They don't have programs that can feel up 70,000 to 100,000 seats to watch a PAC team take on a WAC team or something. So the PAC teams have to schedule games worth watching like Oregon did this last season. So which PAC team is coming to cowboys stadium next?

One of these days you're going to give the PAC a little credit for being a decent league. I just know it.

(By the way, how does any program find the time to feel up 70,000 seats? Doesn't that take a lot of manpower? Not to mention the legal problems that could create. Must be a Big 12 thing. )

to be fair Utah was caught off guard about a football media day in June, and thought it was for the Canadian Football League or something

if I have this correct, in 2014 (providing the Mayans aren't right) 1/3 of Utah's schedule will be:

Michigan
USC
Oregon
Stanford

I would assume either Oregon or Stanford would also be a home game, but that hasn't been announced yet. That's potentially 3-4 top 25 teams, depending on how things shake out.

In defense of the Utes, I think Michigan announced the game, forcing Utah to say something. That's what I've heard, anyway.

Days after a report declared waning interest for a Big Ten-Pac-12 annual challenge, Iowa Athletics Director Gary Barta said the collaboration remains on track between the leagues.

“I think it’s still a very strong possibility,” Barta told The Gazette. “There’s been a lot of discussions about how to implement it. We knew that when we agreed to do it back in December, we knew there was a lot of work to do to finalize all the details. There’s been a lot of discussion about the details.”

Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News cited multiple sources in a report Tuesday writing “that several Pac-12 schools are … how should we say it? … less than enthusiastic about the partnership.”

Barta, who spent seven years as a senior administrator at Washington and the last six at Iowa, said “I still have strong feelings that it will come to fruition.”
