Chow as Utah OC?!?!

This is one thing that would make me nervous if I was a Utah fan. While I think Chow will be very successful at Utah, this move almost seems like a concession that next year will be a rebuilding year. Not exactly the way to go into a new conference. I was truly hoping Utah would go in and win their division. It would legitimize the last few years of the MWC in my opinion. Anyway, completely going in a different direction just before the end of the recruiting period is very risky. However, I don't think Utah will struggle converting spread players into pro-style players. If the OL is there and they can run the ball and protect Wynn, you really can run whatever offense you want and be successful.

I think Utah has pro style players, not spred players. One of their weaknesses this past year was that their best QB was not really a run threat. Kid can throw just fine (when he is healthy) so I think Norm can make a player of him.

Most of us are pretty comfortable with the realization that some repair to the offense is necessary. We couldn't continue in the direction we were going. If this report about Chow is true I like it that Kyle is willing to think big.

I think Norm has the potential to be a great hire for Utah. DDD might have been too busy at work at the time to remember, but many SC fans were ready to throw in the towel on Carson Palmer. There was talent added to that 2002 SC team for sure, but Palmer took 2 years and Norm had turned him from hyped recruit washing out to #1 overall pick.

Wynn shows signs of being a very good QB, now add Langi into the mix, maybe a WR or two. 2012 could be a very good offensive year for Utah, assuming no mission for Harvey.

I sat next to Dave Schramm at a Jazz game a year or two ago at least I'm fairly certain it was him. He has young children, correct? He and his family were head to tow in Ute gear and we actually spoke during the game. Seemed like a nice enough guy. My rods and cones were messed up afterwards though.
