Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Or that play where the qb fakes two hand offs taking what seems like a 20 foot drop, turns to pass, and then is buried by 2-3 d-linemen.

            That was a great play.

I think Utah is throwing all their new PAC money at football. Looks like the basketball fans might be stuck with Boylen until his contract runs out.

                UCLA has a new OC

To me, Davis is the more fascinating hire, although I think Chow will be a great addition as well.

Not only was Davis around for the rebirth of Utah football from the Dark Ages, interestingly enough, he was Alabama's director of player personnel in the 2008 season. He and Kyle go way back, all the way to their days at Idaho State. Out-freaking-standing hires.

I agree with this. I felt our run blocking has suffered the last 2 years. I watched the Rose Bowl thinking "Damn, I wish our line would fire off like that"

Between Chow, Davis, and Langi, it looks like we're getting the USC castoffs. That's how I'm going to look at it.

This is a big coup if Utah pulls this off. Great hires addressing obvious needs. This shows me a lot about Kyle.

I have always been a Chow fan and wished that things could have worked out differently at BYU.

After the Jimmer lovefest(well deserved btw), the Ute fans around here needed some good news.

The coaching developments for both BYU and Utah has me worried about the recruiting trajectory of BYU. With Anae and Hill out at BYU, does this have an affect on recruiting minority athletes? Does Utah going to a more pro style offense create a more intense competition for the same athletes? Chow does bring a certain cachet to the younger generation who associates him with USC.

We got rid of our two worst recruiters on staff.

                                Does Chow even recruit?
