Well, since I'm the TV news updater here, looks like Utah vs. UCLA won't be picked up on any national TV. So the Utes are stuck with KJZZ again. (although I think next week will be a simulcast I believe by Fox College Sports). Somehow Arizona vs. Colorado is on FCS, and Arizona State vs. Washington State on Versus? Really, PAC-12? Utah vs. UCLA is more important (IMO for bowl implications) than two of the games that same week.

Both asu and probably wsu are better than ucla and Utah. I think a game between 2 decent teams is more viewable than a pac 12 bottom feeder gameComment

I'm not so sure about that, yes ASU is good, but Washington State? 3-5 (beat Idaho State, UNLV, Colorado) and definitely not making a bowl game with their final 4 games, their only shot I think of winning those 4 games is against the Utes in Pullman. UCLA still has a chance of winning the PAC-12 South somehow, that's why I think UCLA/Utah is a lot more compelling than ASU/Washington State.Originally posted by Maximus View PostComment

Here are my scenarios for how Utah ends the season.
8-4 - Sun Bowl 99% Holiday .05% (would require Wash to lose remaining games and two bcs pac12 teams) Alamo Bowl or Rose Bowl (.0000001% would require Ariz st losing their remaning games and Wash losing remaining games and Utah beating Stanford/Oregon winner on the road)
7-5 - Vegas Bowl 100%
6-6 - Vegas Bowl 50% or Fight Hunger Bowl 50%
5-7 - Home for the holidays

I'm fine with Vegas or El Paso, preferably would like to go Vegas so I could actually go. El Paso is too far of a drive, nothing to do, and I can actually go to the Las Vegas Classic NCAA tourney the day after with Baylor, WVU, a couple other good teams.Comment

Looking at the schedules, it seems most likely that UCLA will not be bowl eligible (games @Utah, vs ASU, and @USC left), and Cal still has to play @Stanford and @ASU, so they will most likely end up 6-6 with Utah (assuming losses @Arizona and @Wazzu).
The picking order will most likely end up:
- 1/2 Oregon/Stanford (Rose/BCS)
- 3/4 Washington/Arizona St. (Alamo/Holiday)
- 5/6 Utah/Cal (Sun/Vegas)
I guess the real question would be if the Sun Bowl would take a 7-5 Utah to El Paso over a 6-6 Cal if we happen to win one of the road games.
I would almost prefer a Vegas Bowl invite against TCU over a game in El Paso against GaTech or Wake Forest.
Either way, a couple of weeks of Shreve having one on one with BJ/Chow is the real big win in all of this.
I suppose Arizona could make a run if they beat Utah. They seem to be playing better since getting rid of Stoops.Comment

UCLA is going to make a bowl game in my opinion. They play USC, and ASU, but I think they will beat Utah and Colorado.
Honestly, just looking at the eye test of this Utes team, I do not expect us to win 3 out of the last 4. I expect us to be 6-6. I think we can beat Washington State, and Colorado. I think we are going to get beat easily in Tucson.Comment
