Does anyone here really think he'll really make an impact?

Depends on how one defines impact.

I think he will be an above average OLB, but will be second string to Kyle Van Noy and Alani Fua. I guess he is slotted to play the Sam OLB, so I can further clarify that he will be a back up to Kyle Van Noy.

However, I think he will be good enough that he will get to play some reps each game so that KVN stays fresh throughout the entire game.

I don't know if that meets the threshold of "impact" or not. I think it makes an "impact" so to speak. I think he is good enough to start but he is coming in at a time when I think BYU will be on a great run of OLBs. I don't think he will be a dominating player or particularly "impactful" on the field, but I believe he will be adequate and will execute his assignments. But he will clearly underwhelm when compared to KVN.

Remember that of the 5 OLBs who have played and are likely to play this upcoming year, 4 are seniors: Pendleton, Frazier, Atkinson and Wagner. Next year the only OLBs BYU returns who will have any experience will be KVN and Alani Fua, if AF plays enough this year to be referred to as one with experience.

True. I guess I was just thinking about how deep we are at LBer, and not necessarily OLB. There'll probably be some time to be had on the outside next year.
