Yeah he's been complaining about neck soreness since August 2nd but never thought much of it. Kind of scary.Originally posted by Sizzle View PostIn an interview with Doman this morning, he made it sound like it has been bothering him for a while, but wasn't something they could easily identify. Anyone know exactly what the injury was? There a neck fractures, and then there are neck fractures. The vertebrae in the neck have small projections that are commonly broken, but are nonsurgical and don't particularly pose a problem aside from pain. Obviously, a major vertebral fracture could potentially endanger his spinal cord or his vertebral arteries, but if he's been practicing for 2 weeks, that probably isn't the case.Originally posted by Surfah View PostYeah he's been complaining about neck soreness since August 2nd but never thought much of it. Could we possibly bring this thread back to the universally appreciated goal of tracking DDD's adventures in fan apparel shopping?

While he said that across the board he thinks his players are eager to follow and anxious to reach their potential, he did point to a pair of defensive players as having really stood out to him in the way that they've improved.
The first name mentioned was sophomore linebacker Kyle Van Noy.
"Van Noy showed promise last year because of his ability," Mendenhall said. "Through this year's fall camp, if he hasn't been the most productive than he has been the most consistent. He's had an impressive fall camp which has been fun to see."
Van Noy couldn't keep a smile from his face when he heard about the praise from Mendenhall.
"It shows that he cares," Van Noy said. "I know for a fact that he cares about everyone on this team, but to have someone at that level that I respect like a father figure say that means a lot. It's good to hear."Read more: http://www.heraldextra.com/sports/co...#ixzz1WcqGNREdThe other player Mendenhall singled out for his improvement was junior linebacker Ezekial "Ziggy" Ansah, a tremendous athlete from Accra, Ghana, who had no football background before joining the team.
"A year ago, we had to help him put his equipment on," Mendenhall recalled. "Now he's in a position where he can help us on the field."
For Ansah, the journey has required a lot of hard work.
"I see I've improved a little bit," he said. "When I compare myself to what I was last year, I think I've come a long way but I need to just keep working harder."So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

That's good news. His length will be a plus in passing situations... Wonder what this is all about... 2012 scheduling
http://www.fbschedules.com/2011/08/o...ball-schedule/
Would they cancel the OSU series and just leave it as a one and done in Corvallis?

Eff that. They better let BYUTV carry that game also and not tape delayed.According to industry sources, the Texas-Kansas game Oct. 29 is most likely the 2nd game on LHN. If that falls through, it would be UT-BYU."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

As has been said, I would take not seeing that game (I'm going to be there anyway) if it meant the difference between being in and being out.Originally posted by Surfah View PostEff that. Oct. 29 - is this next year's game? Because then it would be in Provo and we'd have the tv rights.Originally posted by Surfah View PostEff that. They better let BYUTV carry that game also and not tape delayed.

Me too. But I doubt that is part of the bargaining right now.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostAs has been said, I would take not seeing that game (I'm going to be there anyway) if it meant the difference between not being in and being out.
LHN is looking like the Mtn after it's debut. Texas fans are all calling their cable companies pleading for them to carry it. Verizon signed on but it's only part of their most expensive cable package which I do not get."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic
