Actually, you are wrong on that. Thanks for participating today though.

It did not help John Beck to be thrown into the fire so early. While it is frustrating as fans want the coaching staff to do something, anything to change the situation, I am convinced the Mendenhall's stubbornly sticking to what he knows will work best right now will best serve BYU over the long haul.

I do hope Heaps gets ready in a hurry.

Mostly I am disapointed in BYU's defense today. I think it is unreasonable to expect BYU's offense to be consistently effective this year, but I think the defense should show much better than this.
Hey, Napper, we went up to West Point today for the Hawaii game. What a beautiful day up there...are you a West Point grad or ROTC elsewhere?

Why the hell should they? This writing has been on the proverbial wall since spring camp. The fact that the QB compeition went on through fall is a complete joke. Every single person that watched these two play said it was obvious who we should go with. The radio guys, the guys on the board that have connections to the team, those who went to practice, and apparently even Anae and Doman.

Of course the teams we play aren't going to run their 3rd team defenses out there, so I have no idea why Bronco thought Riley was going to be able to throw the ball against them. But hey, he went on a fucking mission, so that's got to be worth something.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Somebody on CB said Anae decided. Hopefully he's trying to teach Bronco a lesson.

I graduated from West Point in '96, what a pisser of a loss today for the Black Knights. It has been a truly miserable college football day for me.

Nelson will start against FSU and look like total shit. Heaps will start the next week.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

If we have a son, he's going to West Point.

No disagreement here. I am just sorry that the chance was lost for Heaps to get a bunch of valuable snaps here in 4th quarter garbage time. He needs to be developed or we will be facing many of these types of games.

I actually I think it was Bronco's decision. I have a hard time believing it was Doman.

                        • There was a lot of poor play today, but Vic So'oto had a terrible game today. Same with Stephan Thomas.

Bronco has stated many times that he is not involved in deciding which QB plays unless it's a very unusual circumstance.

                              Sounds right.

If we're going to lose 5 games this year, might as well get Jake some experience.

I think Mendenhall's issue in this case is not having a qb ready to take the reins. Well that not having the clout, despite his pandering to the mullahs, to keep Unga in school this year. I think if he is going to waste it, so to speak, he isn't going to do that with Heaps. He saw how it screwed up Beck's head and he isn't going to follow that road. I think that when they really believe Heaps is ready, they will go with him. IMO that is likely to happen by the next conference game. I think Mendenhall really wants it clear that Heaps is the guy. As much as today sucks, it kind of spells that out for all. What really hurts, IMO, is that BYU's defense should have been better today.
