I guess I don't look at it like that. Icing on the cake is getting Michigan in a H/H, but not at the expense of your rival series.

I'm interested in playing every year, and not at Utah's convenience. I don't mind playing in Sept if we play every year, but if we don't, I'm more interested in not playing at all in anything.

It's just my opinion, and I realize there's lots of fans on both sides who don't feel like I do, but to me either you're rivals or you're not, and I don't want to have a half assed thing like Chris Hill seems so interested in having.

          • I don't like this and no, it's not a 2-1.

            • from reading some tweets, it looked doable in 14 and 15 but it would have required a switch up in the h/h with BYU getting 13-14 at home and Utah getting 15-16 at home. Wonder why they couldn't have worked that out? Oh well.

Here is where I am at with this. It appears Utah is only willing to schedule BYU when convenient (not saying this is right/wrong btw. it just is) or they would have scheduled out past 16. Utah wants to leave the door open for "better" opportunities. In that case, if I were BYU, I wouldn't be waiting around for that phone call anymore.

As long as everyone is looking out for what's best for their programa, it's probably time to discontinue the bball series as well to avoid the huge hit to our RPI.

I wouldn't blame BYU for having that mentality, but I don't really foresee a situation where Utah approaches BYU to play a series and BYU tells them "no thanks, we're full".

Sorry about that, hopefully the current coaching staff can do a little better than they did last year.

BYU needs to just move on.

We shouldn't be giving the perception that we're sitting by the phone on Friday night waiting for "buddy" Utah to call up and see if we want to come hang out.

                      • This doesn't need to be all or nothing. Quite frankly, I'm fine with an every other year situation. Think about it, the pressure and anticipation builds up for 24 whole months. While I'd prefer annual on Thanksgiving Weekends, I'd take an every-other-year-or-so rivalry game as well. Could be fun.

                        • This seems like the best thread in this forum to ask this hypothetical question:

Knowing that BYU wants the Utah game to be played every year and in November, what would you do if Utah proposed the following to the PAC12 and BYU:

Game will be played every year. In November. 2-1 at RES.

                          Or not all.

If those were the two options, what would you say?

No offense but its a pretty stupid question and suggestion. No reasonable person would think thats a possible scenario or that Utah is worth a 2-1 with any team on the level of .
