I thought you knew more about BYU football than 90% here?

Well, Michigan was a decent team. They were down on their luck a bit that year, were ranked during the year, but suffered some injuries and it cost them. Fortunately for them, those guys got healthy before the bowl game and when they were all healthy, they were a pretty good team. When healthy earlier in the year, that same Michigan team lost to the same Washington team that ducked BYU by 9 points and also beat #1 Miami to start off the year.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostThanks for the link to the article. It's not really like this years Michigan team, which is ridiculously bad, has a lame duck coach, and will be lucky to be bowl eligible in a weak conference, as well as sporting some of the worst QB play in the nation.
It's good to know you are down with a team that would duck an unbeaten team for more money. That really shows what Washington is all about, wouldn't you say?Last edited by The_Douger; 09-24-2014, 08:35 PM.Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

Totally agree. I myself was only 5, so I leave it up to those that were paying attention.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostThose individuals that had a say in the rankings and did watch those teams felt as thoughthey didn't deserve to be ranked in the final poll at the end of the season. So yeah, they probably weren't that good.BYU was the consensus national champ.
I'd still like to hear why Bronco is dumb for wanting to play Bama. I value your knowledge, as I am part of the 90%."Seriously, is there a bigger high on the whole face of the earth than eating a salad?"--SeattleUte

BTW, why are you comparing them to this years Michigan team? What does that have to do with this? Seems pretty irrelevant. I don't understand why that is coming into this discussion."Take it to the Bank"

I just thought you might want to know how they compared to the team BYU played thirty years ago.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostI'm sure they were a good team.

I'm kind of wondering why you seem to be down with Washington ducking BYU, and who you think Bronco should have said he would like to schedule H/H?Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

Not at all. Sometimes you manage to disagree with the masses and even sound coherent.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostIt's never my best showing when I disagree with the masses.
But it's a stupid discussion, really. Why argue about what should or shouldn't have happened when we know what actually happened? Seems like a pretty pointless exercise. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

You've just seemed like you are ok with it. Nobody wanted to play BYU in 1984. They asked a lot of people to come play them in that bowl.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostDid I say I was down with Washington ducking BYU?
If I was a team like Washington that thought they had a claim to a NC, I would want to play the only unbeaten team that was ranked #1. But that's just me.Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

uofutah was and is afraid of BYU, very afraid. With juggernauts like WSU, CU, and UA coming up, Dr. Hill and Coach Kyle had to dumb down the schedule with pushovers like ISU, Fresno, and Michigan.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostI don't know anything about Washington ducking BYU. I am sure it is similar to those fans that think Utah was scared to play BYU this year. You already proved you have nothing to add when you said that a game that took place the following year should factor into it.
Mission accomplished!Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

After beating you guys 4 years in a row, their really isn't anything to be afraid of. Think what you want though.Originally posted by myboynoah View Postuofutah was and is afraid of BYU, very afraid.
