I'm a resident, so send me your "10 Simple Steps to FOIAing Everything BYU" program and I'll get 'er done. Please wave the charge and I won't be attending the half-day seminar at the local Hampton Inn.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

    • As we go for exposure, how important is it that a large number of kids be RM's or even LDS. I think Bronco and the admin. want the number to be high because they are more likely to make it through the 4 years and less likely for an embarassing dismissal.

If we are following the ND model, there should be no other reasons we would care. Does anyone here know how many kids on ND are Catholic or if the QB's are Catholic?

          Next years starters will be this breakdown;

Defense: 5 starters as RMs (Kaufusi, Manu, Hadley, Sorenson, Bills) 6 starters as Non-RMs (NT ((either the Poly JC transfer or Marques Johnson)), KVN, Fua, Manoa Pikula, Jordan Johnson and Davion Orphey)

Offense: 5 Starters as RMs (Taysom Hill, Solomon Kafu, Houston Reynolds, Brock Stringham, Kane Friel,) 3 OL, TE and QB the places I'd want RMs. 6 Starters as Non-RMs (Ryker Mathews, Blair Tushuas, Hoffman, Apo, Falslev and Jamal Williams) 2 OL, 1 TB, 3 WR.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Thanks, I should have been paying closer attention. Next year could be the year. Therefor, I would like to see the coaches groom Hill for next year, but whatever they decide to do I fully support them.

So do I, but if it goes wrong I will then withdraw my support retroactively. That is just how I roll!

Since I am not a stockholder anymore, I have no problem supporting them whether it goes right or wrong.

A side bar to this discussion is the fact that the last QB to lead a BYU team to national prominence was a non-RM (Sarkisian). Each member of the BYU QB Trinity are non-RMs (McMahon, Young, Detmer). And the QB who won us our only national championship is a non-RM.

I don't know, I think that 2001 was pretty prominent - right up until Luke got hurt. Wasn't that team ranked in the top 5 until that visit to Hawaii?

That said - Doman was not a prototypical BYU QB that season.

                    • We had a great line that year as well.

The D sucked though, but I think we'd have been in the game against Hawaii if Doman and Staley weren't both hurt.

                      • MTSU beat Georgia Tech today 49 to 28. I don't know whether that says more about MTSU or about Georgia Tech.

Did you watch? I was pretty surprised by this.

No; I just saw the highlights. The MTSU players looked pretty athletic in some of those highlights, though.

                            • Since it sounds like some of you are interested, here is some other documentation.

Georgia Tech, nothing too earth-shattering, except it was actually 2 contracts for 4 games (not sure if that was public or not) and the last 2 games were set up to be cancelled easily:

Here's the Nebraska contract, pretty standard stuff:

                              http://www.scribd.com/doc/108596025

Here's the Boise contract, the interesting part is that after BSU joins the Big East they can start cancelling games:

Yes, the GT series was originally announced as a 4-game set.
