        • Fighting Hunger seems like a worthy cause. I don't know why you'd have a problem with that.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Doesn't the LV Bowl alternate between 5th and 6th place PAC12 already? Take the 6th place team every year and an after christmas slot and I think BYU comes out ahead.

No, you will have time to use all 15 practices, recruit and take time off for Xmas. This will be Bronco's favorite bowl.

Is that in January 2013, or is it for the 2013 season? Either way, we'll be pleased to welcome all CUFfers.

Maybe the Holy War will be at the end of the season in 2013

EDIT: Hack. Didn't see HFNW's post above.

Good question. This is the first year that the bowl has been played in January, so i don't know the dates in the future.

                      • My bet is that it wont even be called the Fight Hunger Bowl by 2013.

In the weeks of building up prior to the New Mexico Bowl, here is one thought I keep having:

Why doesn't BYU host its own bowl? ESPN can help pony up a decent payout per team for the right to televise it, a co-sponsor can also kick in some cash for naming rights and the bowl can be at Cougar Stadium. It would definitely be a crowd pleaser in what amounts to an extra home game for BYU. And it cannot be any more crappy than most of the bowls that currently exist. BYU can schedule it for after X-mas and would also be free to pick any team that it wants so the matchup could vary from year to year until the Big 12 extends an invite.

I know that the result would not be must-see TV, but currently, none of its bowl options are must see TV and we are playing these games at places where nobody wants to travel. If we are going to play a crappy team for mediocre cash, why not just do it at home and at least jam pack the stadium? Also the possibility for a snow bowl would be kind of cool.

I like this idea. It is settled. We are doing it.

Does anyone know if this will be a permanent change? All previous Kraft/Emerald bowls were in December.

Seriously, you could get the Utah ski resorts to jointly sponsor the thing (Best Snow on Earth, etc.). If the weather were horrible, it might actually be more fun to watch and would be a bonus for the bowl's sponsors. Still, let's do this after 2013, as Mrs. PAC has already started preparing the fixins for the CUF tailgate at ATT Park.

                            • If we are 7-5, the fight hunger bowl is a nice reward. Unfortunately, 2013 looks to be a good year with Heaps and company as seniors. If we don't run the table and make a BCS game, our reward for a very good season will be the hunger bowl. That hurts.

If BYU hosted a bowl game it would be in Arizona or Las Vegas, not Utah.
