If Hill is as good as the coaching staff says he is and they aren't going to redshirt him, he has to be made the backup this year. I understand he still has to earn the job next month, but having a QB with no experience starting in 13 is ridiculous.

Uh, they both involve a team from the B1G??

It'd be very nice for the expected starter next year to get significant minutes late in the season. I'd prefer they sacrifice a bit this year to be prepared more for next year. Of course, with Riley's playing style, I'm sure at least one backup will get significant playing time.

Right now, the projected backup is Lark, also a senior.

Hill will have half a year under his belt by then.

That's the only thing? They're both home and home as well. They were inked within a few weeks of each other. I didn't say it was significant, just interesting.

Sure it's an anomaly, but Madison can be nice that time of year.
Minnesota/Wisconsin has some of the strangest weather. I went to high school 3 hours outside of Madison and we'd have a November day like you mentioned and a November day where the schools were closed because the wind chill was -30.

I can't wait to make this trip!!!!!!

All of that seems really, really uninteresting.

While the timing is bad for us to have such a killer schedule, news like this makes me less depressed about Independence. Contrary to what SJS, et al, keep telling us, this beats the crap out of being in the MWC or BE.

Especially if the game is in November as currently speculated.

The visitor layout of Camp Randall Stadium looks like the one at UW. If you get stuck in the one end zone seats, you are about 50 yards away from the field.

This is definitely a sidelines game.

Agree. If BYU can do this kind of deal going forward, then things will be just fine for independence if BYU can win. 2013 is a very, very exciting schedule for BYU. It's also very daunting for a young football team.

I still think the post-season situation is a challenge that you need to resolve. With a schedule like that, 2-3 losses is probably not unlikely even with an experienced squad. 2-3 losses as an independent doesn't do much for the post-season unless BYU can arrange for better bowl tie ins.

With the way things had been trending for your scheduling, this is a huge announcement. Home and home with a very good BIG team and in November, to boot.

                                Nice job.
