I’m hoping for another CCG.
WRs are a big question mark, but there could be multiple players who can step up.
With Gary Andersen staying on, I’m hopeful that the defense will continue to perform. We have talent at CB, but I think Gilford was a helluva coach. I’m excited for the LBs.
regardless, 9 wins will be a bit of a letdown. Anything above that will be awesome.

I upgraded to Legacy I just so that I could get 10 tickets this season. Nothing brings me more joy than taking the family and then inviting some of my former YM and their families to the games. And that ND home game is going to be absolutely nuts.

This is a great summary - thank you brother.Originally posted by Shaka View PostI think BYU has the potential to take another step forward. Bear has that freshman year out of the way and all reports are that he has raised his game to another level. RB-wise, we have a tad more depth and should be excellent if the injury bug stays away from LJ and Moa. I'm not worried about the O-line at all. All the question marks belong to the receivers. However, I believe they made the necessary acquisitions in the portal to mitigate the loss of Roberts and Kingston. Legend Glasker will make us wonder why we were worried. Even worse for the opposition is our strong tight end group. BYU will have many offensive options next season.
Defensively, BYU reloaded. The LB group is arguably better than last year. I have no worries about the trenches and the defensive backfield.
The one thing I want to see is a change to our tendency to lose the first half only to have to make it up in the second half. I want to see complete games.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I considered getting tickets this year and would have a similar commute. I’ve still got one kid at home, which prevented it, but I’ll likely get tickets in 2028 when I’m finally an empty nester.Originally posted by BigPiney View Post
9 hours each way. Worth it."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. If you can work remotely on Thursdays and Fridays, Allegiant makes it pretty cheap to get there and back.Originally posted by Moliere View Post

That was the plan. If I flew out of IAH the commute time would be closer to 6 hours but driving to Hobby is a pain from my house. I can easily work remotely both days and I have a basement to stay in. MJ would want to come, so having a kid at home makes it tough to do until that kid turns 18 and we can legally leave her here or she moves out...thankfully she's planning on a mission at 18 and hopefully we can convince her to leave ASAP.Originally posted by Green Monstah View Post

Dude, how old is your kid? People leave older teenagers (16/17-ish) at home for a couple of days all the time. Heck, my wife and I left our youngest home alone (16 years old) when we went on a 4 day vacation. She drove herself to school, to work, went to church without us, etc.Originally posted by Moliere View Post

I don't think Utah has any law dictating an age at which kids can't be left unattended, even overnight. What is wrong with Texas? (Actually, I'm not aware of any law in Texas either but I'm not a lawyer - just a dude on the internet that just spent a few seconds doing Google searches).

My 12 year old is staying home this evening. I left a 5 am for our division track meet which is 6 hours away. My wife is driving over to meet us and watch my son run in his last races ever. The meet will get over about 7:30 pm and then we will drive home hopefully getting home by about 2 am.Originally posted by BigFatMeanie View Post

My daughter got dropped off at school at 7:30 this morning, will get a ride home with a friend and then put herself to bed after watching 4 hours, probably, of The Office and microwaving something for dinner.

There are some mitigating factors for her in particular because of some recent medical stuff, but it's still funny to me that my wife doesn't see that our kids are almost all grown up.Originally posted by BigPiney View Post

Random thoughts on the last few posts:
Now that LGA has been rebuilt and Newark has a shiny new terminal, IAH is tied with Denver for the worst major airport in the United States. They are both being significantly rehabbed but I think they are beyond redemption.
My parents first left me and my closest (in age) younger brother at home for a week when I was 16 and he was 13. They were taking my oldest brother to the MTC and took the two youngest kids with them. They would call around 9:30 or 10 each night to check in. After that call, I would head out until the early morning hours with my friends, school nights be damned. This would be much harder to pull off in the smartphone era. I do think 16 is plenty old to be left alone for a few days but not all kids can be trusted.

My dad owned a construction company and had big projects in different cities. For much of my junior and senior year in HS my parents would be gone during the week and home on weekends. I was the youngest kid so I was alone. I actually loved being my own boss. I was also super dependable unlike some of you degenerates."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."
