Given those who have lost ahead of us and those who still may lose, I think we will be comfortably inside the Top 20 on Monday. Which is crazy given what I was expecting over the summer.

Lassiter just straight up beat the CB in a foot race on his long TD. Perfect throw from Retzlaff.

Then on his very next target, he was a good step and a half ahead of three Baylor defensive backs. Throw was a little off, but he was a FULL STEP AND A HALF AHEAD OF THREE DEFENSIVE BACKS.

The fact that we had a fast black wide-out who was a legit deep threat against Big 12 talent would have been a huge discussion topic week to week on this board 10 years ago. On defense, one of our CBs left his feet in a full extension to deny a short pass. An athletic non-LDS (my assumption) corner that isn't 5'6" was every coug fan's wet dream back then. Brian Logan ring any bells?? (he's still great!)

Admittedly, my interest level in BYU football (really, all sports) has waned over the years, and I'm sure that NIL deals, the move to the Big 12, loosening up a little by admin in allowing coaching hires, some loosening of grooming and clothing standards, COKE PRODUCTS on campus, etc. have all incrementally upped the temperature of my relative boil, but DAMN its getting hot up in here!

That's what tied it all together for me. It was like that kind of thing is "normal" for BYU.

The bye week comes at a great time. Hopefully some of those key injuries can heal up with the extra week.

This team is fun to watch. They should just get better as the season progresses. I feel like they have a high ceiling this year.

Who still thinks we lose to Utah this year? I'm looking forward to that game.

I hope BYU beats Utah and I think they have a good chance to do so. But Utah also has a good chance to beat BYU. Anything can happen in the rivalry game.

Over the past 10 years, Utah has been ranked 4 times and BYU none, but there has only been one blowout - the 54-10 drubbing BYU took at home in 2011. The other 9 games outside of that blowout, including BYU's most recent win, have been won by a combined 60 points - an average 6.6 point margin of victory.
