This is the best scenario for BYU. Utah’s “rival” is leaving. BYU gets a school that is much closer and bridges them now geographically continuously to the BiG12. It destabilizes the PAC12 further. BYU also has another team to take the 9pm central kickoff times so hopefully not every game is a late game.
Im happy and I hope Utah is never invited and they end up back in a conference with SDSU and New Mexico."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

It's amazing how the turntables have turned. And the lack of self-awareness is fascinating. I guess this is the anger phase, although many are stuck on denial. Utah was very fortunate (but not "undeserving" as the most bitter BYU fans claimed) to have been swept to the promised land 12 years ago. I was and remained extremely jealous until BYU got our own invite to the party. Now Utah is in danger of being left out by more circumstances beyond their control and not necessarily because the deserve to be in or out. It's that simple. The world was not for you 12 years ago and it is not against you now. I know they will continue to make fun of our "backwater" conference mates while secretly soothing themselves that when it comes down to Pac 12 disintegration that the Big 12 will take them. I used to agree with that and think there was a near zero percent chance Utah gets left out. But now I'm not so sure. Still probably more likely they end up in the Big 12 than the MWC, but if I were a Utah fan the probability of the latter has become uncomfortably high. It's nice to observe the chaos from a place of security finally.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostI gotta say, fans of the uofutah are the worst, and this is bringing out the worst of the worst. Somehow, when the uofutah bettered its position by bolting for the PAC and leaving its long-term rival behind and then big-timed that rival at every turn, that was a noble move. But now, when CU and the XII move to better their positions, then all hell is breaking loose and college football is just plain broken.
It’s clearer and clearer that college football has fallen apart. The NCAA has no control. And the teams and schools are ran by greedy, short sighted children.
But alas, it this CU things does really happen, then the adults at the uofutah will be some of the first to recontact Brett the Conqueror.
These cryptic tweets mean Oregon or Washington which I'm not buying. But that would obviously be instant death for the conference if true. Ultimately I don't think they survive even a single defection (at least not as a "power" conference).Originally posted by SteelBlue View Post

Why wouldn't they mean Arizona? Everyone knows Oregon and Washington will not go to the B12.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostThese cryptic tweets mean Oregon or Washington which I'm not buying. Because in a prior tweet, he said there's a school not in the 4-corners states that is considering jumping to the Big 12. Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah are therefore already ruled out. So if he's talking about a PAC team, the only others (after eliminating the four named in this tweet) would be Oregon or Washington.Originally posted by falafel View Post

It's incredibly interesting to see some ute fan reactions. It seems many just assume worst case scenario, they can just hop on over to the B12. Now, it certainly may happen that they eventually end up in the B12 (please no), but to just assume that they are in no matter what is incredible. Many even assume they are on the very short list for the B10.
Even UW and UO fans seem to be feeling much more impending doom than ute fans, and they have a much better chance at coming out of this ok than Utah. So weird.

Jason Scheer (tweet above) claims that OSU isn't attractive enough to invite. So, apparently, that's not who he was hinting at earlier.Originally posted by BigPiney View PostRumor is the Beavers.

"Terrible fit academically and culturally"Originally posted by old_gregg View Post
Unless he's talking about being like ASU, Washington State and Oregon State, this idiot doesn't know what he's talking about. Does he think Cal, Stanford, USC and UCLA have any regard for Utah "culturally and academically?"
These guys were such nouveau riche assholes over the past decade, everyone needs to actively petition against their inclusion in the B12.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Fascinating thread. A few in the anger phase, a couple approaching the acceptance phase, but most are in the denial phase.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostI gotta say, fans of the uofutah are the worst, and this is bringing out the worst of the worst.
