      • I didn't see a scenario where Utah gets left out of the Big 12 as the Pac 10 falls apart, but it seems like my dream may come true. If this happens the Pac 12 Utah billboards will be all the more hilarious in hindsight.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

        • CU board meeting tomorrow is public and it is an ACTION meeting. I.e., vote. This is a done deal.

Too bad the bet didn't go to Aug 1.

It has to be absolute panic right now at P12 schools. Who is coming next? There are only so many seats in the lifeboat.

I wonder how local sports radio is spinning this in SLC?

I turned it on for my drive home. Former utah QB Scott Mitchell didn't say a word about it.

                            • I gotta say, fans of the uofutah are the worst, and this is bringing out the worst of the worst. Somehow, when the uofutah bettered its position by bolting for the PAC and leaving its long-term rival behind and then big-timed that rival at every turn, that was a noble move. But now, when CU and the XII move to better their positions, then all hell is breaking loose and college football is just plain broken.

It’s clearer and clearer that college football has fallen apart. The NCAA has no control. And the teams and schools are ran by greedy, short sighted children.

But alas, it this CU things does really happen, then the adults at the uofutah will be some of the first to recontact Brett the Conqueror.
                              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

                                another good one:

Unfortunately it’s a glorified G5 conference, and a terrible fit for Utah culturally, academically and geographically. Best approach continues to be, remain in whatever iteration of the PAC and work to be included in the P2 for the next (and presumably final) realignment.
