It is a FanNation article. Lol."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

What people don't understand is Utah has a loooong history of success in the P12(-2). They aren't like WSU or ASU teams that got to Rose (or OSU and the Fiesta) only to lose, and almost immediately return to the norm, of being an also-ran. The Utes have are far superior to teams like UW or Stanford- schools with multiple RB appearances in more desirable media markets.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post
That article is funny - and catnip for ute fans still in the denial phase. Almost the entire argument is based on recent on-field performance by the utah football team. As if that matters in the context of conference realignment. Maybe you didn't notice, but UCLA, USC, and Texas have been terrible lately.
FTR BYU fans are just as delusional at Utes about how important they are viewed outside the Wasatch Front. Both are the lettuce or tomatoes you add to the burger at the end. If one or the other isn't there, it really isn't that big of deal.
Edit: I wrote my post somewhat sarcastically. Then I read some of the reasons about why Utah "holds the cards".
This is like Villanova saying the reason the 2022 Final Four was one of the most viewed is because of how important the Wildcats are. The fact Duke, UNC and Kansas were also playing is a mere side note.34M viewers last year. Oregon hasnt played in a game that has had as many viewers as Utahs Rosebowl did last year. Utah can wait for an invite and if they dont get one the Pac will still be here.If the ACC makes a move or partnership b4 the Big12 then the Big12 will be in troubleLast edited by Art Vandelay; 07-19-2022, 03:25 PM.

I don't know what to believe, but since The Dude is no longer a party pooper, I submit this.

Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Yeah, twitter is pure entertainment right now...Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostOh yeah, Arizona is ready to jump ASAP.
Twitter was pretty fun last night. I can't believe ESPN put out that article on the P10 getting rejected by the B12 when ESPN is working a media deal with the P10. That doesn't bode well for the P10.
Some of the P10/ute fans are starting to enter the acceptance phase.

Good thing they significantly raised Whit's pay... it would be hard to totally dominate the MWC without him.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostUtes holding all the cards. https://twitter.com/amarkhamrivals/s...F4fa3vlxng9isA

The one thing I can't figure out with all these rumors is what are Oregon and UW's plans.
Based solely on what I've seen on Twitter (thanks Tedbot) and my great CloSUeau like intuition I have gathered:
* Washington and Oregon are the two most valuable schools remaining in the p12-2
* The BIG10 has no interest in Pacific NW
* AZ & CU, and possibly all 4 corner schools have some interest in the B12
* The B12 would like to add UW and UO, is the feeling mutual?
So even though Ute twitter seems to think they "hold the cards" it would seem the Ducks and Huskies do, to a certain extent. What is there long term play here, if the assumption it's not if, but when the P12 become as minimum the PAC8?

lol I think they had better be wining and dining the Big12 to sneak in with some sort of '4 corners states' schools package. No doubt the NW schools are by far the most valuable, but if they have no interest in the B12, that is Utah's best bet for inclusion. In other words-- I believe the NW schools are the ones holding the cards here.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostThe one thing I can't figure out with all these rumors is what are Oregon and UW's plans.

All 4 corner schools? Wonder if anyone has informed New Mexico that they might be changing conferences.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostThe one thing I can't figure out with all these rumors is what are Oregon and UW's plans.

I think when the it comes out that CU, AZ, and ASU have made applications to the B12 then Oregon and/or UW will make theirs too. Right now they are hoping the B1G will give them an invite. If the B12 gets applications from OU and/or UW they will drop CU like a bad habit. If both OU and UW apply then CU will join CSU in the MWC just like Utah is going to do.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostThe one thing I can't figure out with all these rumors is what are Oregon and UW's plans.
