It could be worse. You could be a mediocre team in a P5 conference that has an idiot running it and all the conference games are on late at night. (Maybe because the idiot running the conference thinks there are some viewers in Australia?) Independence is better than that.

I'm not sure about that. Not that we will be left in the cold, but that a telegraphed kick to the happy sack is somehow better than a sneak attack. The anticipation of knowing the ball kicking is coming, not being able to do anything about it, and then boof! That seems worse to me. With a surprise attack, I can live in bliss before the shot, take the hit, and move on.

But yeah! We are screwed either way.

Oh believe me, he is wrong all the time. And this "BYU exclusion" thing is just just the kind of dumb scenario where he pretends he is some kind of predictive genius. I would imagine if you polled most people here through the years, they would have agreed that the odds have always been against BYU. It is particularly funny that SU thinks he is in a position to dunk on ME. He is either going senile or just never pays attention. I challenge you or him to search the archives to find a single case of me predicting that BYU was a lock for a P5 conference. On the contrary, I was consistently skeptical of posters who swore "we are in!" with inside information and openly mocked some of the more egregious "sunshine pumpers" (I even had a custom smilie for them!). You haven't been around consistently, so I will give you a pass, but to see SU flounder so badly like this is embarrassing. I feel sorry him.

I have still not seen one specific example of The Oracle being wrong.

If the SEC goes to 16 teams I could see them adopting the 4-team pod model, where members of a pod would play each other and then two games against each of the other pods:

Pod 1: Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina
Pod 2: Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Vandy
Pod 3: LSU, Miss St, Ole Miss, Missouri
Pod 4: Arkansas, OU, Texas, Texas A&M

Yeah, Pod 4 would bring back the old Southwest Conference of the 1960s where Arkansas and UT would be the powerhouses.
