We've been outside pretty much my entire life and it's steadily gotten colder since 1984. I'm pretty sure after 2010 we all assume BYU will stay independent and continue to be a fringe national interest, resulting in 9:15pm (CT) kickoffs on ESPN. Not only am I fine with that, I expect it at this point. I'll also say that if given the chance between independence and a Big12 conference without UT and OU, I'd probably stay independent.

I think the odds are better that the B1G stands pat and does not expand. But then there's Rutgers and Maryland. Other than TV sets, not sure why the B1G expanded to include them. At least when Nebraska was added, they were somewhat still relevant with a decades long history of being relevant.

Yeah, I don’t know how they ever got UT to agree to letting TCU in… Ann Richards forcing Baylor into the Big 12 was bad enough. But that’s what happens when people forget to vote and the democrats sneak their candidate in. Never again!

Oh believe me, he is wrong all the time. And this "BYU exclusion" thing is just just the kind of dumb scenario where he pretends he is some kind of predictive genius. I would imagine if you polled most people here through the years, they would have agreed that the odds have always been against BYU. It is particularly funny that SU thinks he is in a position to dunk on ME. He is either going senile or just never pays attention. I challenge you or him to search the archives to find a single case of me predicting that BYU was a lock for a P5 conference. On the contrary, I was consistently skeptical of posters who swore "we are in!" with inside information and openly mocked some of the more egregious "sunshine pumpers" (I even had a custom smilie for them!). You haven't been around consistently, so I will give you a pass, but to see SU flounder so badly like this is embarrassing. I feel sorry him.

Right. Big 12 with OU and Texas, or P12 invite. Outside of that I'm not really interested.

It could be worse. You could be a mediocre team in a P5 conference that has an idiot running it and all the conference games are on late at night. (Maybe because the idiot running the conference thinks there are some viewers in Australia?) Independence is better than that.
