They failed at getting jobs that generate real news. News outlets call the sports writers the toy department. They all are frustrated about this and want to write truly important stuff. Look at Monson, look at the frenzy over Paterno; look at that horrible charlatan Frank Deford. In general, I don't respect sports writers. I do feel differently about sports broadcasters. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Thank you Heritage Foundation.
http://dailysignal.com/2016/08/10/co...ampaign=thf-twOne of those Mormon beliefs is that homosexual behavior is incompatible with the church’s religious tenets. That has the LGBT bully community all aflutter and demanding that the Big 12 not allow BYU to enter the conference because, in their view, the university has an “express policy of discriminating against same-sex couples and LGBTQ students.”
Well, let’s take a look.
The honor code forbids students and faculty from activities that those outside the Mormon faith may find out of step with today’s secular, mainstream culture.
In addition to not using alcohol and tobacco, adherents also agree not to drink coffee or tea (as is directed in the church’s doctrine and covenants), not to gamble, and not to wear clothing that is form-fitting (that goes for women and men).
Also, adherents agree to follow a “strict commitment to the law of chastity.” In other words, no premarital sex for anybody. The code goes on to specifically address homosexual behavior, stating that same-sex attraction is not a violation of the honor code, but acting on it is:
Homosexual behavior is inappropriate and violates the Honor Code. Homosexual behavior includes not only sexual relations between members of the same sex, but all forms of physical intimacy that give expression to homosexual feelings.Homosexual behavior is inappropriate and violates the Honor Code. Homosexual behavior includes not only sexual relations between members of the same sex, but all forms of physical intimacy that give expression to homosexual feelings.
So apparently, the reason everyone should be marching in the streets is because heterosexual couples on the BYU campus can hold hands, but homosexual couples can’t.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Looks like Baylor modified their student code:

I would guess that something similar will happen soon at BYU.

Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

I think most people here, whether or not they like BYU sports, and whether or not they are active LDS members, would like to see BYU and the church become more accepting of gay students and members. Inclusion in the Big 12 is likely to drive pressure in this direction, while continued exclusion is likely to drive more of a isolationist posture that will drive re-entrenchment and defensiveness. So really, I think we can all agree that Big 12 inclusion is good for everyone. Unless you don't care about gay people, I guess.Originally posted by ByronMarchant View PostLooks like Baylor modified their student code:

Are the gambling and form-fitting clothing sections relatively new? I don't seem to remember those being formalized parts of the HC when I was there.Originally posted by falafel View Post"What are you prepared to do?" - Jimmy Malone

Surprise, surprise... Baylor University isn't OK with gay sex after all
The original story was that Baylor had dropped a specific reference to homosexual acts from its revised sexual conduct policy, which had previously listed them alongside sexual abuse, sexual harassment, sexual assault, incest, fornication and adultery. The new policy says: "Baylor will be guided by the biblical understanding that human sexuality is a gift from God and that physical sexual intimacy is to be expressed in the context of marital fidelity."Thus, it is expected that Baylor students, faculty and staff will engage in behaviors consistent with this understanding of human sexuality."
It also says: "This policy will be interpreted by the University in a manner consistent with the Baptist Faith and Message of 1963." That's quite interesting, as unlike the BFM revision in 2000 – which was much more conservative – BFM 1963 makes no mention of homosexuality, though it does define marriage as "the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime".

Ironic that they had no issue competing at Baylor during their time in college. A little consistency from the LGBT people would be nice once in a while.Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View PostFormer gay big 12 athletes dont want byu."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
