Apparently. I'm as horrified as everyone else, but I don't think its off limits in terms of trying to make a joke. If anyone here is a victim of this kind of stuff and my ill-timed joke offended you, I apologize.

I have a close family member that was serial abused for over three years. If you were to take a step back and think for two seconds about how tragic something like this is, you would realize there is no appropriate joke for this situation. There is absolutely nothing good about the situation. Everyone involved suffers and many for the rest of their lives.

We've all made dumb and/or regrettable comments online (BO posted a stupid picture just yesterday). I think why you are taking more than your than your fair share of abuse, has more to do with your overall persona. I don't represent the masses, but my reading of the tea leaves, is everyone is piling on and saying "grow up". Not just with the dumb joke, but with the constant use of f-bombs, the constant reminders of your unbelief, etc.
