I knew that. It's so funny you think I don't know that. I knew all about naked mole rats before that segment.

See, this is exactly the sort of thing I thought you would have known, but then you go and make a comment like this and I lose confidence.

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

From an ESPN article posted today:

Among the 120 large football schools, only 22 of them made a profit in 2010, Fulks said. The rest needed money allocations from the general university fund or government to cover their expenses. Fulks noted that athletic revenue currently comes from three primary sources: Ticket sales account for 29 percent, booster donations 26 percent and redistribution of television revenue 20 percent.
The federal government is indirectly subsidizing the athletic departments of 98 large football schools.

They are called rats, so in a sense they are a type of rat. That's why I said type of rat instead of just rat.

              I don't get it either.

I despise mormonism, but still can't stop caring about BYU's football team. Part of it is that its my alma mater and part of my personal history no matter where I might be now. Another part is that I've been a huge fan since I was small kid.

yeah, Waters noted that on CG. If I recall it's less than $20 million. Peanuts.

Good thing Utah moved to the Pac 12 for peanuts.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Those kind of weird things happen all the time.

It's like the active Mormon who despises BYU. How does that make sense? I can understand not being a fan or being a fan of another school, but to actively dislike the school founded by your religion of choice? How many Catholics hate Notre Dame? It's crazy...really.

The church has billions and a shopping mall that is not open on Sundays. Why would it need the stink'n government's money?

I don't trust your recollection, especially when it comes to BYU. You initially implied that BYU didn't receive federal dollars hoping that nobody would follow up on this falsehood. Without further evidence, it can be reasonably assumed that BYU receives as much federal money as other institutions of it's size and stature.

Is it okay to not like -- even hate -- BYU football and basketball if I am an active Mormon?

Source suggested Big 12 might consider adding Louisville AND West Virginia to go to 11. Not great, but Big Ten lived with it for years.

Of course it's okay. He only said it didn't make any sense.

I love dumb statements like that from so-called journalists. Yes because staying at 11 is certainly the end game here.
